Headed to New Orleans on Thursday for Jazz Fest. Any NO protips?

By no means should ever consider taking a crap off Bourbon Street.  Your best bet (still iffy) is to go to the McDonalds just outside.  I recommend the hover/plop method but I've heard of others that went caveman.

It's Crawfish season so eat plenty of them.  Lots of great food in town so it kind of depends on your schedule, rental car vs. taxi/trolley etc but i would try and get over to Cochon Butcher for a meal.  Also, try and find a spot with a oyster happy hour, many have 50c raw oysters during a happy hour.  Bar hop to as many different spots as you can and dont buy bottle service at Ricks Saloon unless you are prepared to drop some cash and have the upstairs to yourself.  On second thought, do that and tell Roland you know the other guys from Kstate.

Eurocat, take a swamp tour.  Sounds cheesy but I loved it last yr.  You get to hold an alligator!!!!!  :surprised:

Also, a surprisingly good restaurant in the Quarter that isn't very expensive is Oceana.  They have my favorite gumbo that I had while down there and the other stuff we had there was very good as well.  They are just off of Bourbon and Conti(I think).  Also, for breakfast, Cafe Fleur De Lis is fantastic.  It is just north of Bienville st on Chartres.

Also, we took a cocktail tour.  It took like an hour and a half and walks you around to like 5 or 6 bars.  Was cool to meet ppl while down there and also really helped get your bearings for the french quarter(if that is where you are going to spend your time).

Also, skip Cafe DuMonde.  Sucks.  Standard tourist trap.

Anybody done Isla Mujeres off of Cancun?  We've heard it's pretty cool and looking for some recommendations.  Money is obviously no object.

Going to Juneau in July for work.  Will work a couple days and stay over the weekend to do Alaska stuff. Is 2 days enough/too much?

Recomendations appreciated.

I'm not going to go "Into the Wild" or anything, but i don't want to miss something that is worth seeing/doing. I assume you just go look at snow and mountains and wolves, which would make 2 days more than enough, but i may be missing something.

Also, where is the best place from Juneau to look at snow/mountains/wolves?

Go find a glacier and hike it or something.  The few ppl I know that go on Alaska cruises all do that and say it is the best part of the trip.

Take the ferry to Glacier Bay Natl Park.

If you're a risk taker hire a bush pilot to take you for a ride.  Up your life insurance before, though.
