it's pretty great how google has redefined "research" to "did 1 google search w/ appropriate key words and read first two articles"

That's all it took for me to not get screwed by these two knuckleheads running a sherut.   :dunno:

(Maybe I did get screwed though and didn't realize it.)

Last time I went to LA clams was spot on with the Best Fish Taco in Ensenada recommendo.
Next weekend I'll be back, and I was thinking about checking out Pasadena with a friend. Any pro tips?

Congress just put off the ATC furlough through the end of September. Hopefully those dumbasses have their butthurt figured out by then.

Great question. Friend who lives in Upland, she says it's cute place to walk around or whatever. IDK. I'll only be there part of the time.

Have to go to St. Louis for a wedding. Will have some free time in the afternoons. No cardinals game going on. Is there anything worth doing?

I like St. Louis. That said..no, unless you are a zoo or arch fan. STL has an excellent zoo and an excellent arch.

Is there anything St. Louis is known for food wise? Do they do anything particularly well?

There's a great local sandwich shop, the St. Louis Bread company. Also I think barbecue. go to yelp or something.

Already checked out some places . Have seen 5-Star Burger, SugarFire BBQ and a Seoul Taco as potential lunch stops. Are they worth it, or is there something better?

Blues playoff game?

Also not sure if serious about St Louis Bread Co.  I think Rusty could be that dumb.

Broadway Oyster Bar is a fun little dive, but will be quiet since the Cards aren't in town.

The brewery tour is fun if you've never done it, but once you've done it, no need to return.

Love me some St. Louis style pizza, the provelone <3 <3 <3.

There is a Casino Downtown if you are feeling lucky.

If you are there that night with no plans you could do some heavy duty catfishing on the mississippi!!! A buddy was telling me that there are fishing tour's where they take you out on the river and fish right by all these grain barges. Apparently when they load the grain barges alot falls over the edge and it acts as a fish feeder for catfish. Very similar to deep sea fishing in that the guides will do all the work for you and all you have to do is drink beer and reel in 40lb catfish.

I think I've been there during St. Patricks day one year. Don't really remember much about it though.

the Italian restaurants in the neighborhood known as the Hill kinda fit this role

http://www.urbanspoon.com/n/28/7192/St-Louis/The-Hill-restaurants

I find the drive to the Hill from downtown to be fascinating - constant blight and disrepair and them boom, cute little houses and brick restaurants perfectly maintained
