Currently working to book a 4 night Portland, OR vacation. Need protips Beems and others. Prolly using 145k HH to stay at the Embassy for 4 nights on an AXON to burn through them. Flying Frontier on points.

I've been a few times with my wife and stayed downtown.  We liked:

  • Lan Su Chinese Garden
  • Hiking in Columbia River Gorge area, there's lots of hiking trails to waterfalls (the main one is Multnomah Falls).
  • Drinking at the various breweries.
  • Art museum
  • Hoyt Arboretum/International Rose Test Garden
  • Museum of Contemporary Craft (it's small, so check out the exhibits before going).
river gorge area is nice

Those HH points are basically useless if I don't burn them
How many weeks per year do you travel for work

Oh man, Lange is my favorite winery.  Also one of my buddies could totally sue them but is too lazy to go through with it.

Holy crap, that's amazing.  I would have guessed like 5.  For travel I always commit 100% to either black or brown.

I'm struggling with 5.  I am not going to take another pair of shoes to make it.

yeah, definitely. then you only need one belt as well. it gets much more difficult if you are travelling for work and need to go from a suit to casual or vice versa each day.

yes, do this on occasion. also use the hotel plastic laundry bag to store all your dirty clothes in your bag.

One time had to pack for Denmark and Israel (2 weeks) for same trip.  Was April.  So like cold rainy and then warm/sunny.  I puss'd out and had the hotel to laundry.

4-5 tops and that is packing my flip flops, traveling in my shoes, and carrying my kindle in hand.

I would probably wear dirty underwear for a week before I checked a bag.
