You guys I'm going to Maine! Holy eff right?

Bangor is awesome. The people are just so nice. I like Portland, too, but I love Bangor. LOVE IT. Yes, you should eat lobster.

This is an interesting point bc the place I am going is like directly between Portland and Bangor, and its up to me which one I fly in and out of.

Portland has the bigger airport. So probably better flight options.

Manchester is generally cheaper but it would add a 2 hour drive.  At least that was my experience from a few years ago

It's for work so price does not matter.
Went with Portland.

Just booked this summer's New Orleans trip.  Oyster festival.  Also, going to take a day to drive to a beach and do nothing.

Looking forward to it.

Also, through work, looking at an April Key West deep sea fishing weekend excursion.  Never been to Key West and very much looking forward to it.

Houston in March.  Fly into IAH or HOU?  Fares are the same.  Distance to destination about the same.

I like HOU better. It seems less busy, but it's been five years or so. May have changed.

just flew into iah and out of hou 2 weeks ago.  I would go hou simply because it's a lot smaller and less busy.  mostly a southwest airport.

Definitely go Hobby. On your way in or out, there's better access to food and civilization (good taco & food trucks, places to grab a burrito and horchata, etc.  :lick: ). IAH always feels SO far away from anything.
I'm in it purely for the entertainment value.

I've been a few times with my wife and stayed downtown.  We liked:

  • Lan Su Chinese Garden
  • Hiking in Columbia River Gorge area, there's lots of hiking trails to waterfalls (the main one is Multnomah Falls).
  • Drinking at the various breweries.
  • Art museum
  • Hoyt Arboretum/International Rose Test Garden
  • Museum of Contemporary Craft (it's small, so check out the exhibits before going).
