Window seat at check in, sat next to a 3yr old that slept the whole time.   Best coach experience of my life.

It's like you are living my life in LS.  I took the Amtrak from Boston to DC and loved it.  Studied, ate, drank, fell in love and had my heart broke all in a 10 hour trip.

Off to Beverly Hills for work tomorrow. Will be there less than 24 hrs but will have a great dinner on the company. Anything near rodeo drive to check out that isn't mainstream shopping crap?

Amtrak is great, when there aren't delays. When there are delays, it's still pretty good.

Amtrak is a great experience. I take it every chance I get which, unfortunately, isn't all that often.  Pretty relaxing ride, especially on long trips. That said, remember that the train rocks a bit laterally, so it's easy to slip in the showers if you have a shower available. Just takes a few minutes to get used to.

So SW service to Puerto Rico in April (14th I think).  I'm sure some of you guys have been, tell me about it.  Must do things? Overrated parts?

Took some folks I know 39 hours to make it from somewhere in Nebraksa (Lincoln?) to Chicago on the Amtrak.  Nearly missed the wedding they were headed up there to see.

Nothing better than returning to your home, Kansas, after being somewhere else less desirable (all).

That's on the Riverwalk, plenty of bars to choose from.  Make sure you go eat at Mi Tierra.

Currently on the amtrack.  The station was pretty wild.  It also doubles as the greyhound station, so really, an eclectic mix.  The chairs on the train are very comfortable.  It's an astonishingly smooth ride.  Everyone is quiet.

As far as the ride itself goes, it beats the pants off a plane.

Also, a girl asked one of the train attendant guys if there was wifi on board the train and he was like "no, but we should have it in a couple months."  But you know what?  There is wifi on the train.

Any dogs?  I am very concerned about this little rough rider.  He looks crazy and stupid.  I may have to take him out pre-flight.

no.  pretty disappointing.  they just scanned it with a scanner thing.  but they did wait till i got on and the train started moving before they checked everyone's ticket.  seemed kind of weird and old timey.

no "AAAAAAAAALLLLLLL L ABOARD!" either.

lol no.  no dogs on the train.  how on earth do they let an uncaged animal on an airplane?  that's crazy.  probably not as bad as a screaming baby though.

t's and p's, mr. stone.
