I have to go to Grand Forks, ND next week. Anything to do there?
Go look at the river and then report back here so we can warn flood aggie of any impending floods. :ohno:

I wouldn't warn flood aggie.  Let them flood, hence keeping their name of flood aggie.

brother got a grad degree from UND.  visited once.  you can play blackjack at every bar in town.  like, you walk into a basically dirt floor hole in the wall and there's some guy in the corner at a blackjack table.  they will let you order food and eat it at the blackjack table and everything.  there is nothing else to do in town.  very much nothing.  there is a place called The Blue Moose (not related to KC blue moose) that is on the river and pretty decent bar food.

I was going to suggest Michigan as a good cool-weather summer vacation but if Mrs. Dave wants to go to Maine I think Maine is the right choice.

Oooooh let's go to the lake :excited: In addition to fantastic beaches on the ocean Maine has delicious yet inexpensive seafood, mountains, white water rafting, whale watching, incredible coastal towns and Acadia National Park.  Michigan has its place no doubt, but it isn't a credible alternative to Maine.  Michigan's beaches are for Chicagoans and Michiganders.

Walk around the capitol building - it's one of the coolest settings of a capitol building in the country. Seems like lots of places to eat/drink. I imagine it's absolutely gorgeous in the summer.

Maine: pretty sure it's a topless state. Pretty sure.

Madison: spent a couple weeks there in the summer after high school. Lots of frank Lloyd wright architecture (maybe only one thing...not sure). Also, there is an REI where you can buy awesome mountain bikes with your graduation money and then there's a ramp near campus where you can peddle downhill really fast and launch yourself into the lake. Your welcome.

Just got back from Oregon. Oregon state is reminds me of Pitt state. UO is like KU with more poorly informed T-shirt fans.

Forgot to add, I saw a KSU kats hat at Dutchbros in Corvallis. Didn't see any little bro gear on the entire trip.

Pro tip: in St. Augustine FL, "Trade Winds" is a huge townie bar and they don't like fratty tourists or east coast elites.

It is.

Also Madison is awesome.  Rusty's tip about the capitol building is a good one and State Street is right there.

Going to San Fran with the madre for a few days.  Any good son/mom bonding time activities?  Going to see the Rock and redwoods and stuff.  Anything else?
