I was only there for a night, but enjoyed the LoDo district.  A bar/restaurant called Euclid Hall was great.  Get the Pad Thai Pigs Ears.

say you have 10 nights in europe.  you don't speak a lick of any language other than english.  you are travelling Nov/Dec with the wife.  you are flying into london and out of paris.  where do you go/what do you do?  We were originally going to do 5 nights in London and 5 in Paris.  Thinking this may be too many and we should split it into 3 stops.  EuroCat?

Get a cheap flight to Rome or Athens, and do that in between. Arrive London, depart same day for Rome/Athens (try not to leave airport), have an awesome time, depart Rome/Athens for Paris, depart Paris the same day.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Barcelona is fun and not too out of the way, but I'm not sure about Nov/Dec. You would have to refer to EuroCat on that one.

Barcelona is fun, Scandinavia will be cold and cloudy that time of year so don't go there, Amsterdam is a really cool city and there is a so much more than the weed reputation it gets from American college kids

I would guess you can't go wrong either way, steve. the question is how soon would you get back to Europe? If you think you'll get back in a couple years, stick w/ the original 5/5 plan. If it will be like 5 years, I would maybe do 3 Paris/3 London/4 in random cities in Europe. (I've heard great things about Budapest relative to the other cities, FWIW, never been myself though).

Where to stay in Paris?
Good place to stay. Hyde Park area is really good. The south border of the park (Kensington) is a really upscale area where a lot of diplomats and Sheikhs own property. Lots of good restaurants (Bar Boulud) and upscale type places (Mclaren dealership at 1 Hyde Park). The park itself is nice to walk around in and there's always something going on. On Sundays you can walk to the Northeast corner and see a bunch of crazies on a soapbox at Speaker's Corner, right next to Marble Arch. From there you can walk right down Oxford Street for the best shopping in London (since you're an EMAW you'll want to get rid of that cash you're carrying around). For the rest of the typical London stuff it's just a few stops away on the tube.

For SD, i would say 5 days in each place is a bit long but you can definitely fill it in. I don't know that it's enough time to go somewhere completely different and enjoy though. What i would do is stay in London for a few days and maybe take a train to Brighton (45 minutes) or go to Stonehenge (never been but people seem to like it?).

If you're taking the Eurostar train to Paris you can stop off in Lile (never been so i can't vouch for it) or just take a quick train from Paris to Versailes. The Eurostar also goes to Brussels, so you could take the train there, spend a couple days and then take a high speed the rest of the way to Paris for the remaining time. Belgium is easy to get to from Paris due to really good high speed train service.

If you still want to go elsewhere Lisbon is amazing as is Sicily. Both also have amazing weather and are along the water. If you want to go inland Munich is really nice during the summer with the alps only about 100 km away. (EDIT: Just saw that you're visiting Nov/Dec. Munich is nice, but cold. Lots of great skiing not too far away though. Weather might not be great for a European coastal destination other than Sicily or Greece. I would personally stick to Northern Europe and go where you want as long as it's not a logistical nightmare)
