Pounding liquor in Bangkok rn

Must go to lady boy show and a rooftop bar. One of those red light districts is interesting but very creepy to watch old white americans in there. Gross.

Guess probably should do the grand palace too lol. The red light thing we went to was called Nana Plaza.

That's where I'm headed soon

enjoy the weird pants you have to put on if wearing shorts

Uh yeah I don't know what you mean by that but I'm inside wearing shorts??

I don't understand how other people aren't sweating, I'm completely soaked and when I look around everyone else is comfortable. 86 degrees and 80% humidity.

that must have been somewhere else. There were these thin "pants" you had to put on to cover your legs that they just gave you and you gave back when done.

Was this where you had to put your shoes in a big bin.

My memory was a bunch of Vietnam vets (US ones) sitting at bars and young "ladies" (ladyboys) brushing the vets hair/bald heads and slapping others asses as they walked by their bars.

So, songkran during the day is a giant near citywide water fight. I didn't want to deal with that today so I just stayed in. It generally dies down at night but just walking to dinner and down the street to a bar at 10 pm I've been assaulted like 8 times (in a fun way). Pretty interesting holiday.

Like there are vans on the side of the street selling hundreds of water guns. I'll try to remember to get a pic.

Why can't we have fun like this. Ours would end up in someone being real shot.

BKK, huge and pretty nice. The domestic gates are bare bones though.

One thing I've learned on this journey is that I'm not a tropical climate city person like HCMC and Bangkok. It's just too damn hot. Flew to phuket today and it's amazing how much more tolerable the climate is with a sea breeze and maybe a cold drink in a pool.

In the water taxi on the way to my resort island about half a klick off phuket.

We stayed like 10 minutes south of the main area and took one of those lit up tuk tuk's to and from the hotel and was sure I was going to die in one of those "8 americans died in a car crash in Thailand stories.

Just had a long weekend in Toronto. Unlike China, heard tariff discussion everywhere I went. Was also a hot topic in the news.

OK, there hasn't really been anything interesting though.

This is the entirety of the pictures I took in HCMC and Bangkok.

An excellent ny style 8 incher I had delivered in HCMC

Chicken tikka in HCMC

A fashionable kid with comically huge shoes at BKK

Chicken shish at a lebenese place in Bangkok (I also had the same at a fast casual Turkish place that was way better.) I ordered a Mai Tai but I'm pretty sure that’s a Cosmo. It was trying to be an insta place and they lit like steel wool on fire around the stem and it was just me obviously not caring and waiting for the damn thing to extinguish.

Random street shot while sitting at the punk singer bar. I think I took this because the security staff across the street kept rough ridin' with each other and sneakily pouring water on each other. Obviously didn't turn out well. The bar cut the band and started playing club music promptly at 11 so I gtfo.

Dinner tonight, some Thai dish I don't remember the name of but was described as wok cashew chicken
