If you can use them at all during thanksgiving travel time, it'll be to chicago or dallas.

What's the accepted mantra on flying SW with two kids?  Stick mommy and two kids in one row and then daddy across the aisle?  Split two and two?  Maybe daddy way far away pretending his family isn't on the plane?
How little is the youngest?  Our first flight with 2 kids the youngest was almost 2 so we did kid-dad-kid aisle mom so I could deal with the kids while mom was the snack/candy/toy depot.  PROTIP - have the parent on the other side of the isle sit in the seat that is slightly behind not slightly ahead so they don't spend an entire flight looking back over their shoulder.

I think you have to be an insane person to cite open seating as a SW advantage. Every other airline you pick your seat when you buy the ticket. Checking in 24 hrs before flight to make sure you're not stuck in the middle, gmafb

A list pref, cmon

I didn't read 99% of what was posted after I complained about SW boarding.  Here is why is is stupid.  I'm sitting there next to k_m_wife.  She is in the window seat, I'm in the middle.  One seat available in the aisle, like normal humans should do.  I'm in the 4th row, and like half lf the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rows are each have only 1 dude sitting in the aisle seat. These dudes are telling everyone who asks that he's "saving the seat for his wife and kid."  So their wives get on like 10 minutes later, because they apparently couldn't spring for early bird for the other ticket like the poor disgusting slob of a person he is.  Their wives sit in the window seat.  So aisle and window, leaving just the middle seat open.  Guess what? None of them have kids that ever get on this flight.  Normally, this wouldn't bother me, except now we are late to leave because we have a full flight.  So there are like 10 people at the back of the plane wondering why there aren't enough seats.  Once boarding stops,  the flight attentants had to ask these people if there was anyone in their middle seats.  Then they both get out and give the window seat to the person they lied to like 20 minutes earlier.
Basically, I like the poor people in the back of the plane, in their assigned seats, where they belong.  I'm always group A on SW, so I personally have no problem boarding, but everyone else just ruins it.
