I had a first class seat on a flight last night.  The lady in the seat next to mine asked if I would trade with her husband so they could sit together.  The husband was two rows up, also a window seat.  Trade first class window for first class window?  No problem, I took his seat.  A minute later, one of the flight attendants asked if I traded seats.  I explained the situation and pointed out my original seat.  The attendant then goes to the couple and boots them back to coach.  I couldn't hear the entire conversation but it sounded like a no trading policy in first class.  Is that really a thing or was something else going on?

they must not have had first class tickets. no way they would hassle someone who paid that first class money like that

plus, if there was some kind of no trading policy they were enforcing, they would have talked to you too

You guys are probably right, but the only way they could have boarded before me without a first class ticket is with diamond status. If they've flown enough to earn diamond, they should have known they couldn't get away with that.

could have been on the connecting flight in. when everyone exited they just jumped into some empty first class seats they saw as available on the seat map.

I thought you said they were elderly. Elderly people sometimes get to board first. "passengers needing extra time" or whatever

Maybe so, SD

yes eventually those seats were filled, but unless they were upgraded after the incident one of those guys would have had the seat I was now in.  No issue was made of that.

Not elderly or physically impaired in any way that I noticed

I sat next to a guy coming back from some music festival last weekend and he was a level 5 and (imo) on some pills too. He told me about how much drugs he did over the weekend and the girl he made out with on his layover at love field and showed me all these pictures he took of girls boobies and kept offering me pringles (original). He ordered a g&t and when the air waitress came back she wouldn't give him the g even tho she already ran his card. Well obviously that frustrated him so then I had to listen to 20 minutes of what he was going to tell "that $!#*" on the way off the plane.

He didn't say anything when he got off the plane.

Oh and after he got denied he asked me to secretly order him a g&t and pay with his card and I had to tell him that I don't think she'd fall for that

I know it sounds like I'm complaining, but I'm not. It's the only time I've ever been ok with a rando talking to me on a plane

The only way to fly on SW is get a window seat with a buffer seat (Mrs. Gooch) in the middle to keep people away from me.
