That reminds me of Frankfurt.  We were picked up by a bus on the tarmac and then took a seemingly 10 mile drive to the terminal and before getting on a tram for a two mile ride to the right gate.

if you fly lufty 1st you get picked up in a porsche or mercedes and don't have to pile in with the back of the bus'ers.

cars, wgaf, amirite?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Dunno if this is the right thread but Jim Boeheim was on my flight yesterday.  More blood vessels in his nose than I would have expected.

Doubtful...I think I have until the end of February to do so if I was looking at it right, which in that case it might be close. Flights to Alaska add up quickly. Or is it strictly by calendar year?

but, since i'll be pretty close when 2015 starts, i should get gold for 2016 pretty soon after that right?

sometimes they will do a late in the year bonus deal where they extend the date out a month or two. don't know how common it is. they'll also sometimes offer a "soft landing" and let you maintain your current status even if you didn't quite have enough miles to get there for the next year.

Blast goddammit. All the mqm's you earn between whenever you qualified for silver 15, and the end of 2014, will get carried over towards qualifying you for silver in 2016. So you when you start flying in 2015, you will already almost be to silver for 16, so it will take you much less time to make gold for 16.

Also when you earn gold sometime in the middle of 2015, it will be effective immediately and last the rest of 2015 and all of 2016

yeah i got there eventually. it's just shitty timing, i'd have it for sure if it was extended to jan. 31.

this was my next question, figured that was the case.

Gold and silver is night and day, btw. You get 100% bonus miles on every flight and priority line in security, and get upgraded much more often. Depending on how close I am in December I may go on a run to get there

If you guys need a quick 5k MQM you could get the Delta Amex and spend $1k on it?

Quote
If you are looking for a way to boost your end of the year SkyMiles and MQM’s, the Delta Reserve card gives 10,000 MQM’s and 10,000 SkyMiles after the first purchase. The Platinum Delta Amex gives 35,000 bonus SkyMiles plus 5,000 MQM’s after spending $1,000, and the Delta Gold Amex gives 30,000 bonus SkyMiles  5,000 after spending $1,000.

I'm on my first flight in like forever that is not either in economy comfort or business. Holy crap, I had forgotten. I mean the guy next to me is not even fat at all, and his arm is like inside my seat
