Same topic, but Cozumel.   Go.

i was just in cozumel cns casey. where are you staying?

Intercontinental Presidente.

Anything worth seeing in town or is it like a border town/tourist trap?

Also, what fun stuff did you do/fun places would you recommend?

that's a very nice hotel cns casey.

here is my overall opinion of cozumel- it's kind of a dump with mostly dumpy places. like imagine that boring drive through the florida keys before you get to key west where all the buildings look like they were built in 1972 and 1/4 of them are unoccupied... that's basically cozumel. it's a tiny little island that cruise ships dock at. the main street along where the main cruise dock is basically this-carlos and charlies...t-shirt shop...t-shirt shop...little hotel...bank...jewelry store...jewelry store...hooters....t-shirt shop...little hotel...t-shirt shop... anyway, you get the idea.

i can't recommend much because i mostly just hung out at the AI pool bar. what i do know is that you have some of the absolute best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world there so def do one or both of those. plenty of places to just snorkel off the beach too so don't pay for that. basically i recommend drinking and either scuba or snorkel the rest of the time.

Any recommendations on places to stay where the SCUBA people can just pick you up in a boat right at the hotel beach?

Personally, I didn't want to waste my vacation time in a pool in SCUBA gear so we got certified before we ever went SCUBA diving on vacation.

the park royal where we stayed at was pretty decent and they had a scuba shop that operated out of it. a person i went with used them and said they were fine. my guess is that most major hotels/resorts/whatever in czm have scuba people that will pick you up at the resort or operate out of it though. it really is a main reason why most people probably go there. i just kayak checked some random days in june and the price for two people all inclusive at park royal was $123 which is pretty ridiculous/cheap. i'm sure there are places that are a little nicer though and also a lot of places that are quite a bit worse.

I'm probably missing an entire Vegas eatery thread somewhere, but I'm headed there for a conference next week.  I haven't been there in five years, so a lot's probably changed since I've been last.

Any specific restaurant that I should hit up?  Probably won't do too much boozing and the like since I'll be there for work and on my own, so there's that.

Will you have a car, or will you be mainly confined to the strip?

They have cabs in Vegas.

I was planning on staying just on the strip and getting some exercise by walking.

What type of restaurant?  Good for a single guy to sit at the bar and eat or shmoozy client type restaurant?  I just got back from LV last night after a week there alone.  Lots of gourmet burger joints, gastropubs, and Neapolitan pizza places are now popping up after years of just high end star chef restaurants.

Doing a roadtrip to South Carolina by way of Memphis here in two weeks,  2 days in Charleston and 2 in Myrtle Beach.  Then head back through the Smokies and St. Louie.

Any of you wild wildcats got any suggestions for things to stop and see on this grand escapade?

I am standing about 10' from my bed, right inside my sliding glass door that leads to my private balcony.

Gordon Ramsay BURGR @ Planet Hollywood is very solid

Hidden Pizza @ Cosmo is still my fave Vegas casual eatery tho
