But I actually came to this thread to ask about vacations to DC. GF and I are planning a trip to DC in August to visit museums and monuments and such. Planning on going sat-wed or tue-friday. Where should we stay? Do we need to rent a car or will public transportation suffice? I have never been to DC and the GF has not been since an 8th grade field trip, any pro tips are appreciated!
