I can't tell if this thread is "guess the airport" or "let me brag about my vacation." (looking at fanning).
Both.

In that case, anyone have any recommendations for Jost besides Soggy Dollar Bar & Foxy's?

I want to catch a shark this summer and  right in his fat, mean, face.
the Sunshine Ace hardware store on Marco has a great fishing dept- they can set you up to fish the beach at night, reportedly that is when the big sharks are caught.
 You're on this crap.

i have all the gear, you just need a texas salt water fishing license and to pray to the fishing gods that the fish are in and the weed is out while you are on the sand

You'd be wrong then. I've never sea fished, but go troat fishing annually. Use to live in Colorado growing up. My grandparents have a lot of land in the flint hills. Stocked ponds and creeks on their property. Dad and I went all the time. There's a scene in dumb and dumber where the bad dude is parked over on the bridge in Colorado and that was my dad and I's fishing spot daily when we lived there.

TAKE IT TO THE FISHING THREAD SO I CAN BE SURE TO READ EVERYTHING AND "GAWK" AT ast's AWESOME FISHING PICTURES AND SAY, "WOW, THAT LOOKS LIKE AN ABSOLUTE BLAST"

But I actually came to this thread to ask about vacations to DC.

GF and I are planning a trip to DC in August to visit museums and monuments and such. Planning on going sat-wed or tue-friday.

Where should we stay? Do we need to rent a car or will public transportation suffice?

I have never been to DC and the GF has not been since an 8th grade field trip, any pro tips are appreciated!
