SD can you tell me or link me to some examples of a good redemption rate when using miles vs the $ amount it would cost to NOT use miles?

There's a BBQ joint at 119th and Strang Line that's pretty good.

a) post this in the CC thread next time, sheesh.

b) I don't understand your question 100% but here is a good breakdown of the value of miles

http://boardingarea.com/onemileatatime/2013/03/14/what-miles-points-are-worth-airline-miles/

just do a fake booking with cash and then see if there's award availability :dunno:

a) ok

b) i know how to calculate mine, but i was just trying to gauge what is a "good" rate and what is a "bad" rate. thanks for the link.

the previously discussed MCI-LGA-JFK-SXM-MCI itinerary is about $1100, or 45k miles, so that is 2.4 cents/mile, which (judging off the link) is really good.

edit: that link compares business class $ vs business class miles, so who knows how that compares

yeah, that's a great redemption for a domestic coach route. you will rarely find better. you can get into pretty lofty redemptions if you start booking international biz/first routes.

Wish I would have found this thread befo I went to Maui.

I will say that while Maui was never a destination for me, I had the vacation of my life. Eight days, daughter married on the beach, whale watching, waterfalls, golf, sun, surf, food.

Definitely going back again. Longer the next time.

The downtown bars are pretty darn fun.  Only been on game weekend to tailgate though.  What's the occasion?  My brother lives in CR so could help with recos

Gf is a traveling advisor stationed in Raleigh and has a visit in IC Monday-Thursday. I'm coming up Friday and staying until she flies back on Sunday.

Just booked 4day trip to Cozumel.  After booking it, I realized that I am going to be there during Cinco de Mayo, so that should be fun.

more white people in the US celebrate cinco de mayo than mexicans do in mexico.

I couldn't do a 4 day trip...I wouldn't even feel like I got to unpack.

And what he said about Cinco.   They will oblige you, but hate you behind your back.

Not worried about lack of show for cinco.  We booked there not even realizing the holiday so will be just fine if it doesn't change the trip.

I like 3-4 day trips.  Longer and I get bored.

Does anyone have any experience with foreign traffic citations?

Is there any real danger in ignoring a notice and fine from the Roman police indicating that a traffic camera caught me driving in a bus lane?

Will I not be able to rent a car if and when I return to Rome/Italy/other EU nations?
