I'm sure wacky's the only midwesterner heading to Chicago this weekend that thinks, "hey, driving would be faster" and traffic should be a breeze.
The drive from KC to Chicago has virtually no traffic until you get to Chicago anyway

1. Midwesterners are the type to sit and wait for their flights.
2. The ones that do drive instead will all arrive at different times.
3. There are hardly any people in the Midwest and the roads are empty.

I'm just curious about arrival time alone. It would help to know the scheduled arrival time for his flight. My gut, which could be totally wrong, says to jump in a car in order to get there earlier.

The problem would not be I-80 in Iowa, it would be once you get to the outskirts of Chicago, which always has pretty bad traffic, and enough midwesterners, (including Chicagoans returning home from sales calls in Indy and Minneapolis) will likely cause a sizeable clusterfuck by rush hour. Depending on when all this crap gets cleared up.

Yeah. Sitting at MCI. Surprisingly they're getting us on a 9:45am flight. Should be there by 11:30. I really thought they'd cancel this bad boy.

You sound really midwesterny saying that traffic in Chicago is so bad that you can't drive there.

I mean, traffic sucks for a couple hours in the late afternoon, but you would arrive. Good thing wacky was on one of the 5 out of 26 flights to Chicago that didn't get canceled

Glad this fire thing didn't happen Monday. I have a 1020a departing Louisville to ORD. Looking forward to trying @8manpick recommended bars and restaurants for dinner each night.

You can do anything you like at the highest level as long as it isn't NFL football. So what do you like to do?

LA traffic is in its own league of SUCK. So, have a specific plan for what you want to do and follow it. Don't just wing it.
