flying n00b here. Is it better/more convenient to print tickets before hand or get them at the airport? Any other flying tips would be appreciated.

also, please don't make fun of me for being a tard. tia

if you're truly elite you do it paperless on your phone.

yeah, you need to print a backup w/ paperless, though. I've had it not work at freaking JFK.

you can bring two carry ons right? Trying to avoid having checked luggage if possible. even though it's a long trip.

I'd bring a regular carry on sized luggage and a backpack of sorts. Unless you have a murse or satchel thing.

if you are carrying on definitely print them beforehand.  you can bring one up to 22" carry on and one small item like a medium sized backpack or laptop back or something.  I don't waste my time with the mobile boarding pass because, as rusty pointed out, a ton of places don't have the infrastructure to process them (even though they are listed as being able to).

where are you going and for how long

I like to print at the kiosks away from the main checkin, because printing at home/work is more of a hassle for me.

Please direct elite European travel questions this way. I live in the UK and travel around Europe frequently for business (i'm in sales). This weekend i was just in Malaga for a short weekend getaway  :drink:

what's the mileage situation there?  like, ryanair have a nice program?
Easyjet, Ryanair, etc are super cheap but they will kill you with fees for checking luggage and stuff. You can usually only carry on one item. Also, there are no rewards.

I fly British Airways a lot for work which forwards my miles to my American Airlines/One World account. if you have Platinum status with AA you can get into all the One World European lounges (BA, Iberia, etc) and you don't have to pay extra.

i didn't fly around the eurozone enough to have a valid preference.  just hated ba and iberia for transatlantics - no legroom & shitty entertainment.  any american carrier is better.  liked lufthansa and especially sas for transatlantics, when possible.

for spanish origin intracontinentals, vueling was fine, when i used it.

Never flown Iberia but their lounge in Madrid is amazing.

BA is about equivalent to your major American carriers like AA, which means they suck.

Lufthansa is absolute trash.

Alitalia is alright.

The middleastern airlines i've flown on (Qatar Airways, Etihad) are really good.
