I looked it up! Didn't want to cheat. Honestly didn't realize Wilmington had an airport before I looked it up

International Driving Permit?.  I’ve read in a couple travel mommy blogs that an IDP is required in Italy. True? Have any of you guys got one?

I did not have one when i drove around Italy last fall but it was a work trip and i did not rent the vehicle.  My coworkers that tacked on a vacation to the trip all rented cars and motorcycles without one so i am not sure the are required for US citizens

they are required and there's at least a small chance that someone might nullify your rental reservation if you don't have one to show.  they're like $20 and 15 minutes of your time, so i think it's worth it be safe.  i've gotten them before.

SteveDave, I know part of your Disney plan is water park in the afternoon. Is mid-October Orlando weather still good for ambulances Typhoon Bay?

It's always hot there bro. I was there on presidents day week and it was 90+ two of the five days I was there. Florida is a hellscape

Tampa/Orlando trip is on.  To the Disney thread (we’re probably only going to Animal Kingdom & Typhoon Lagoon for Disney stuff).

I think my kids will like it more. They love animals way more than Disney. My younger one isn’t a big ride kid. Tulsa actually has a group of girls that do a really good job dressing up like Disney characters. We’ve been to tea parties and stuff with them and the youngest couldn’t care less about meeting them. However she loves shows like Disney on Ice & Animal Kingdom has a few shows she’ll love.

I just think everyone involved would like it more.

Don’t say anything to anyone about the trip. We aren’t telling the kids until we leave for the airport. I don’t want one of the other SILs saying something to the FIL & him slipping up. We aren’t telling my family we’re going.

The level to which she didn’t care about them tells me her reaction to Magic Kingdom, even if it’s 100x better, would be “meh”.

in all seriousness I would guess seeing the characters isn't a top 5 thing about a disney park for most kids. (I've only been to disneyland, but still)

Animal Kingdom is fine. Was just curious. Typhoon Lagoon is incredible. Get there right when it opens.

Animal Kingdom has 2 of the best rides I think. Do Flights of Passage for sure. Expedition Everest is good. And the only animal ride, Kilimanjaro Safaris is good if they are into Animals. You’ll see like every major animal in 15 minutes.

It’s a half day park for us though. Just not a lot to do imo. Elite food and drink though.
