Really makes me wish I were trashy enough to wear something like that in public.

well, at least we don't have to worry about getting caught wearing the same outfit out in public.

Looking to update my look and stop wearing jeans and a polo all the time. Fashionistas, what kind of stuff should I look for this spring/summer?

You can never go wrong with a good tank as long as you can fill it out.

why don't you start with rolled up button up shirts and then go from there. Not to drastic of a change but will get the ball rolling for other fashion excursions

Is this your work attire or casual attire?

My office has a pretty casual dress code, so both. Picked up a couple pairs of chinos last night. Really like the grays.

This. Aim for faded madras (left), summerweight oxford (right), or linen. (You could gingham it up, too, if you don't mind the pattern.)

slimz and y-l_a are both on the right path. Also, a nice pair of shoes can go a long ways. I get more compliments about my footwear than anything else - from both men and women. Maybe something like this:

Yeah. Its so tempting to do the whole young professional urban style thing. If you are semi decent looking you will look great, but it goes against everything they teach you in don't-try-hard-ever fashion school.

Quick question.  What's up with the phenomenon of dudes wearing dyed khaki shorts and with cross trainers and mid calf nike socks.  Saw about 10 dudes rocking this look friday afternoon, evening in aggieville.  Usually coupled with backwards or tilted back flat-bill (with tufts of hair sticking out), too-tight tshirt (shorts were also too tight), with the whole outfit clashing horribly colorwise.

Guys are still doing this. Not as uniformally as 2012, but still quite a bit.

I just don't think I could rock the dyed, primary color chinos that many yuppies wear these days.  If you want to know ole' Sprac's golden rule when it comes to fashion, it is this:  Always look like you are on a boat, just got off a boat, or are just about to get on to a boat (leisure boat, not tubing, y'all).
