This is probably specific to rural white Midwesterners but Rhubarb.
My dad transplanted one plant back to KC that had somehow survived out at the cat ranch for 20 years with no attention.
Just had some stalks tonight and they were damn tasty.
As a captive Garrison Keillor fan growing up, I regard this as specific to the upper, upper Midwest. As in the Lutheran communities of the fictional Lake Wobegon, Minnesota, and the factual places that inspired it. I never recall seeing rhubarb pie, or rhubarb in any other form, in Kansas. I'm sure it exists, but it wasn't really a "thing."
