It may be fool's gold in terms of winning the league, but I don't think it is in terms of finishing in the Top 4.

i got in to them because they're left wing.

Champions League draw for Celtic looks pretty favorable!

Real Madrid is capable of giving a low effort group game away.

Leipzeig will be tough I think, but one of the worst 2nd teams.

Shaktar literally is playing their home games in another country. I'm sure they will try to keep their energy and spirits up, but that can't be good.

Well I for one welcome a bit of old firm banter.

Celtic should go second.  Rangers dusted Leipzig last year in the europa semis so anything less from Celtic would be a disappointment.

Rangers got a very challenging draw.  I'll be happy with not finishing last.

Casameiro was such a great signing. Once he is regularly in the lineup Man U will be so much tougher.

Respect to Ten Hag for benching Ronaldo and Maguire. Obvious solution but hard to pull off, Casameiro is the new alpha in that dressing room and should solidify Ten Hag getting control of what has been an absolute circus.

So time for another edition of random dumb soccer questions:

Why is everyone so bad at throw-ins? It's like everyone just accepts there's a 50-50 shot that a throw is a turnover.

Also has anyone ever considered setting up free kick walls that aren't shoulder to shoulder but like half a ball-width apart? The ball still wouldn't get through but you'd have a wider wall and the goalie could possibly see better!

His positioning and finishing are insane. If they don't win the Champions League this season, Pep should just move on.

I have always thought teams are not aggressive enough at trying to win the ball on throw ins. You have an extra guy!

As far as free kick walls- I think that would make it even harder for the goalie to see. The idea of the wall is to try and eliminate half the goal and let the goalie focus on the other half. Free kick specialists have gotten pretty good at getting the ball up and over so now the goalie still needs to try and play it more straight up and they will make saves on the wall side sometimes but also occasionally they will let in something because they are leaning to the wall side.

It is really tough to get the ball up and over so it is not a gimmie by any means.

The really interesting thing to watch is how teams are doing corners, there has been quite a bit of innovation and you regularly see pretty intricate plays. Teams now have basically a “special teams” coach to handle these situations and draw up plays and strategies.

Liverpool hired a coach specifically for throw-ins.

Throw in rules are the second dumbest thing in soccer. There are some times, and it happened to Sporting last night, when a throw in comes at the disadvantage to the team that won it.

A rough ridin' scoreless draw from wolves today against Bournemouth fresh off them giving up 9 goals. Unreal.
