Jim Sicard is having a nice mini-meltdown.  He starts a new thread, it gets 1-starred, and he deletes it because he doesn't think the posters on Wabash appreciate him enough.  He has now announced his 1-week notice to the board that he is leaving and openly looking for a new recruiting site.

Who in the hell is Jim Sicard?

What I do is find a prospect, then Google him for the next year and every time I find something new I post it.

I have no idea what the eff he's talking about. I think he thinks he's some sort of recruiting guru posting guy

i vote goEMAW hires Jim Sicard for goEMAW recruiting correspondent

Damn, that guy is good.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Joe Namath would be ashamed.

New York Giants defensive end Chris Canty made a Super Bowl prediction on Sunday, boasting on his Twitter account that his team would upset the New England Patriots 28-17 in Super Bowl XLVI. It was another bold, brash move by a Giants team that hasn't been shy about its title-game intentions.

And then reCanty took it back. He deleted the Tweet a few hours later, after media began reporting the story.

Earlier this week, Canty was warning New Yorkers to plan for a victory parade on Tuesday. It's pretty standard stuff that happens during most Super Bowls, but rarely six hours before game time on a social media site.

If the New England Patriots haven't already heard about the boast, Twitter aficionado Chad Ochocinco will doubtlessly tell them.

that seems like something he could have easily looked up rather than post on a message board.

Coin toss in a football game... Reply

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As we just saw play out in the Super Bowl, the winner of the toss in a football game has the option to defer his choice until the second half. This option was added to the rules several years ago because it was noted that it could be seen as a greater advantage to have the option in the second half rather than at the outset of the game in which case it was actually a disadvantage to win the coin toss. Instead of changing the rule wouldn't it have been easier to instruct the captain of a team who would rather have the option in the second half to try to lose the toss instead of win it? I mean, if you think it is going to be heads, call tails and try to lose. Or if you are at home and the other team is making the call, you could hope they call it right instead of hoping they call it wrong. Wouldn't this have the same result as deferring without complicating the rule book?

Wallace,

with all due respect this info has been out there for several weeks. you stated that you spoke with Severino a few days ago concerning his '12 DE and when I saw that I sort of thought it might occur to ask, "oh yeah, i hear you have a junior who is committed to KSU"....while I appreciate the info we did plenty of digging on walk-on candidates in those last few days. I understand quite a bit of it was searching what remained at junior colleges as well. I think the biggest gripe most have is just an overall lack of recruiting coverage leading up to the past few weeks. I don't know if it is a change in the direction of GPC or whatever but as a longstanding member it was not something i was accustomed to seeing from this site.

Not sure how many times we have to repeat ourselves, but if you have a problem with recruiting coverage, take it up with LHC LHC LHC Bill Snyder, not us. In a season like 2011, where KSU had so much success, if you think Bill allowed his staff to throw us any recruiting nuggets, you've got another thing coming.

And as for Severino, I have never spoken with him other than through email. I can remember calling Rockhurst at least 4 or 5 times in the last few weeks asking about Jordan. No response. So don't point fingers acting like Gates and I have sat back, lounging on important info. Could I have followed the email up on Trey Randle by asking the coach about Jordan? Probably. But at that time, as I've stated before, I'll be damned if I'm hunting for info on a story that's somewhat meaningless for another year- especially considering we had a class of 26 for 2012 signing a day later.

If you all are that hurt by it, I'll call Rockhurst again today or try emailing for contact info. Just know that some of the comments I've read over the past 48 hours really have me steaming. I've tried to do everything I can on the recruiting front to make this site proud, and don't even get me started on Gates- he's got so many things on his plate and yet he still finds time on nights and weekends to work phones whether it yields an update or not.

Lately, I've really been questioning the high road with some of y'all... Biting my tongue...

Wow. Wally, with all due respect sometimes it's best to keep most of those thoughts to yourself instead of lashing out. Saying things like I'll be damned if I'm going to write an update on a committed kid, this is a recruiting site.

Hey, I'm a self employed small business owner, I take a brunt of crap from people. It's part of the job in a service based business. Maybe knowing that I should of held back from what I wrote, for that I apologize. I know you guys work hard and our busy. Saying that I would never tell a customer I'm questioning taking the high road with him and I'm just holding back biting my tongue. He would fire me in a hear beat. In my opinion that is a little unprofessional.

This is insane, I have new found respect for the tards over at The Wolverine.com.. GPC sounds like the worst site on the net, recruiting guys need a week to get you a story on a commit ?? Our guys are breaing it before it happens most of the time and that's the norm across the Rivals network.. What a bunch of ass clowns.. Why would anyone pay for that..

Your tard fans sound just like our tard fans though..

Quote from: The Manhatter
for those who point to the Baylor game as the end all for Cox...   Reply
please stop. I'm not saying all that is LB coaching begins and ends with the guy but, damn...it's about personnel, too.

BTW, Baylor humiliated some coaches this year believed to be solid defensive coaches

Paul Rhoads - 609 yards and 49 pts
Brent Venables - 616 yards and 45 pts
Gary Patterson - 564 yards and 50 pts
Manny Diaz - 511 yards and 49 pts
Tommy Tuberville - 617 yards and 66 pts

so, basically, everybody on Baylor's schedule got assaulted. Sometimes it is personnel and sometimes it is the game plan...but all defensive coaches have their heads handed to them.

I don't know why the guy was fired. Could be there were some boosters infuriated by the numbers or that Sarkisian feared his own job. That seems to be the way to go nowadays moreso than ever.

It leads me to wonder why Sarkisian hired the guy in the first place. IMO he's likely a respected recruiter first and foremost because that seems to be the way most of those younger coaching staffs build their teams.
