I was all for bumping Frank's pay if someone was making a legitimate move to get him. That doesn't appear to be happening and he has for whatever reason reacted poorly or at least didn't convey very well what he really wanted to with the AP reporter. So even if he just wanted Miami to be interested, really wanted to go home, or if he's ticked at Currie, it doesn't matter now because he has no leverage unless Miami changes course and comes after him. Probably his best choice now is to just remain quiet, let this play out, make sure he gets Rodriguez signed, then have an informal sit down with the local media guys and get this thing over. Then figure out how he's going to piece next year's team together to hopefully contend for an NCAA birth.

In the unlikely scenario that Frank leaves, I'd be all for going after Pearl.

what, exactly, did frank want to convey that he didn't mean to? he wants to coach in miami, wants miami to know that he'd go for less than what's been reported yet doesn't think he's getting paid enough at ksu, and that he's turned down larger contract offers in the past so currie better give him more money or he's leaving as soon as he can.

I'm not sure, you never know with Frank. Its not like he hasn't messed stuff up with the media before. I have no doubt Frank knows how to use the media and what media to use. I agree with the point that if it was just about wanting Miami to go after him, he could've easily told one of the Miami news organizations, but he told the AP, so he wanted more than just Miami/K-State to be involved. But I also have no doubt that he didn't exactly get out there what he wanted, or how he wanted it to be said. I don't think its just "I want to go to Miami", or "I want to get paid more"; more than likely a bit of both because his ego was hurt.
