on one hand, i love that isu got boned by their prodigal son. and that jaime pollard in typical isu insecure fashion decided to pay prohm $2M per year (which is $700k more than chris beard makes) and extend him to 2022. on the other hand i want nothing but bad things for nebraska and hope that hoiberg (proven nba loser) fails miserably at NU because i hate nebraska fans only slightly less than iowa state rubes. i mean, even though it was about 75 years ago since they had an athletic department worth a crap, they did have one at one time. which is more than iowa state will ever be able to say. because they will always be the bottom of the barrel in anything that they do. forever. go cats.

The eye on college basketball podcast made it very clear from the start that Hoiberg would not be a candidate at UCLA. I think it was mentioned but he was born in Lincoln and his whole family are huskers, he moved to Ames in high school. Also with regard to him and ISU, he did not have the best relationship with his athletic director. Remember after he left Iowa State, he leaked that story about Pollard not booking enough nights in a hotel after the Diamond Head Classic and the team had to sleep in a ballroom with no beds or bedding.

This is one of my favorite streaks in sports. I am worried they will get to end it in a play-in game at some point and I will be furious.

the streak may end but it won't be because hoiberg is some coaching genius. he's not.
the best he was able to do at the crap hole in ames was tie for 2nd in the b12 and that took him 5 years to accomplish.

those are his b12 finishes by year. his .557 winning percentage in b12 conference games is only slightly better than king oscar's .548
the big 10 might be a slightly easier league than the b12 but it's not by much. and he's completely building (not rebuilding) from the ground up, a roster and a program in a place where the venerable danny nee (lol) is looked upon as a God (lol) even though he was canned by the university in the same season he become the program's winningest coach.

he was easily the worst coach in the nba before getting canned. nebraska would have been better off hiring tyronn lue.

seems like nebraska still fills up their basketball arena to watch this perennial loser, they are thirsty for even a little success now that they are a basketball school, so they could make the devaney center a tough place to play. my 2cts

It seems lots of squads, some with success, some without success, are getting transfers. It's more a general change in the environment affecting most every program. Now that we're in the Final 4, idiot media push idiot talking points about how "transfers get you to the final 4".

Also, fwiw, Nebraska is a sleeping giant, they show up to that arena. Not sure Fred is the guy to activate the wins, but he's better than Tim Miles. The Big Ten, right now, is a beast however.

LOL, what's the opposite of a blue blood? Blue bloods don't hire someone who has proven he isn't a championship coach. They just hired the, at best, 6th best coach in the Big 12 conference.

Supposedly he has an 8 million dollar buyout at TCU and is trying to negotiate it down to 1 million. I think at this point their status has been revoked.
