Barnes is almost 65. Surprised UCLA would be going after a guy that old. I guess they want someone who can succeed fast so the next hire is easier?

Lon was on OKC sports radio this morning and laughed when they asked him about UCLA and said he hasn’t talked to them and that he’s too old to want to start over.

But coaches lie a lot, so who knows

Predictable, he's got a better job. What I really don't get about this search is there are so many coaches they could get, great mid major coaches, why go after the guys they did. They could have had any of these coaches and all of them are better than Jamie Dixon and better fits than Rick Barnes

I truly wish I would’ve been paying more attention this whole time. I mean it’s not Currie-going-after-Schiano level of entertainment, but it has quite a few of its own LOLs, for sure.

I don’t know a lot about it but from Twitter it sounds like UCLA is a PItA because all of the ex players try to be super involved and helicoptery. Also saw someone refer to it as the Tennessee football of basketball jobs which is a different situation but also a bad job despite being big time.
