it would be the extremely watered down version of why someone may want BV over JL in football. We know what Jank is as a head coach, we know his ceilings as a head coach, but Mitch is still an unknown and the unknown possibility of a higher ceiling is more attractive to some.

oscar did a better job at Southern Illinois than Jank has done anywhere. He also did a lot better with rosters much better than he would ever be able to recruit himself than Jank did at SMU this year.

Jank is a guy you'd hire if your current coach left you in the lurch, took his whole staff with him, and there weren't any decent coaching candidates with upside left on the market. Do.Not.Want.
