say we beat UT and Baylor. What will it take for us to move all the way up to a 5 or 6 seed?  That is the only way I see us making it passed the first two games.

Get to 11-7 and win a game in KC.

For this season I just want to see us a) in the tournament and b) win a game. That's all.

Do you think that will lessen the pressure off of oscar?

What pressure?

Right now there is no real pressure on oscar. We'd have to lose the rest of our games for him to feel pressure this season.

Yeah. Lots of people expected this to be an NIT team.

I guess I meant from the fan base.  I would venture to say his seat is pretty chilly for at least a few more years due to his hardware from last year.

Yeah, that is mixed. I didn't blame the fans for being upset when he was hired. Nor do I blame them for being upset for last year's first round NCAA loss (even with the conference title). There was plenty of disappointment in both situations. But I think most fans recognize that oscar has done some nice things both last year and this year. Like any other coach if he continues to win to the expected level here, which is really make the tournament and have a run once in a while, he'll be fine.

If K-State can get to 11-7, we will be off of the 8/9 seed line and be in the 6/7 seed mix.  Gonna be pretty tough right now to get all the way up to a 5 seed.   6 and 7 seed are pretty similar... just depends on who the matchup/draw is.   Getting a 6/7, I think it is a good accomplishment for this team in the reg season

I am surprised they don't have us matched up with Wichita State.

IF Wich st got the 1 and us the 8, there is a decent shot we would be in St Louis with them.  One deciding factor would be if a Big 12 team would be a 4/5 seed and put into that region first (and they are always gonna put the 4/5 seeds into each regions first)

Your second sentence makes no sense to me. Also he doesn't have a hot seat or cold, as your analogy states, from the fans. The fans are apathetic, not angry.

I said this earlier in this thread, but UMass is so overrated. They should be an 11 or 12 seed.

Okie State is going to vanish from your list (although I note you said right now).  With Smart gone for the next 3, and the way the team is playing even with him, OSU will be lucky to win 3 more in Conference play.  That includes TCU and TTech plus a hot night/lucky win.  So unless they make some noise in the Conference tournament I don't see them going dancing this year at all.
