I think Shatner killed it. Glad he stopped by on his way to the funeral home.

Also kind of glad Ang Lee won for Best Director and not Spielberg or Affleck--they are already pompous enough. Argo was a good action flick, but Silver Linings Playbook should have won Best Picture. Clooney just stood up there and looked great in that beard instead of giving a speech though.

Do you really think Silver Linings Playbook should have won Best Picture?

I'm a big movie guy. I get bored easily and rent movies/go to movies all the time. I saw all the movies up for nominations last night minus les mesberles sp* ( hate musicals) & that depressing movie with the old movie. I thought last night was great. Was really happy for adele, qt, Jennifer Lawrence, guy from inglorious bastards/django, Ben, etc. Was a very entertaining night. The haters are dumbasses.

I would have given best picture to Django Unchained, but I would have been ok with Lincoln or even Les Miserables winning it. Argo and Silver Linings Playbook were both great movies, but I would have a hard time calling either of them best picture, given the competition.

also adele was pretty bad. seems like she was losing her voice.

LOL, that rant was good enough to go in the politics facebook quotes thread.

Yeah. I mean he had some jokes that were bad sexist jokes but who hasn't made a Chris Brown joke?

Gravity winning everything. Clearly the best movie of the year.

Apparently all you need to do to win an Oscar is lose an obscene amount of weight for a role.

Watched it last night in lieu of the Oscars.  It was a good movie.  I just didn't think he gave that great a performance other than losing a crap ton of weight.  Now if he won because everyone else sucked this year, then okay.

I wouldn't say everyone sucked but I thought McConaughey was easily the best of what I saw.  The only one  I didn't see was 12 Years a Slave.

oscar Dern was great in Nebraska and I wouldn't have been surprised if he had won either.
