Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.

While I can understand not wanting to put too many new seats in the NEZ, you'd be crazy to not want to at least round out the bowl. I mean seriously, how can you miss the opportunity to turn BSFS into a bigger, better, and more consistent OOD. It just fits with the branding of our athletic facilities. Hell, make Ahearn's seating octagonal, TFS, w/e. Make it happen ADJC  :impatient:

I agree with SB, most of the best looking stadiums are actually really simple and symmetrical.

If they're not going to complete the bowl, it'd help a lot if they would at least extend the NE and NW corners to look just like the SE and SW. They could take out the bleachers along with the two little boards in the SE and SW corners (we'll have huge boards on both North & South), design the walkways in all four of these corners to match, maybe add a few shade trees or whatever (would never happen, but you get it). Then you can do whatever you want on the north part with Vanier, seats, suites, etc.

Like CyberToothCat said, it wouldn't add much to capacity but would really help the looks of our stadium. Something like this.

I love this. In the area where you wrote "whatever you want", there would be about 15 rows of seating starting at field level. Behind that would be plenty of room for a mega Vanier or a Vanier-plus-Indoor-Practice-Facility.

Word on the street is that weights, offices, team complex etc, is going across the street and current endzone area will be suites, and video boards.

That would actually make sense because then they could build the thing across the street without interrupting bill, then when it's done move bill and demolish Vanier.

This should require a tunnel under the street so the players, coaches and other staff can traverse unimpeded to The Bill.  :billdance:

I think we've been told that the Ag department would put up a fight to make sure that we didn't build over there, though.

I am pretty sure that K-State Athletics would have to buy that land from either the Foundation or the university.

Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to send all the football offices to the space between the fb stadium and the OOD on the West side and move any possible restaurant/hotel/monorail stop to the north side of the stadium?  I mean you could stay at a 5 star hotel, roll out of bed and boom, suite on the north side.  In turn Bill could have his offices/locker room/weight room right next to the stadium and the practice field, which if I'm not mistaken has always been a complaint of his.

Doesn't the "rules" of the foundation or whatever say that land can't be sold or repurposed?  It was donated to be what it is; it shall always be what it is.

no i don't think that is true. i mean the foundation was building a new building on the corner of kimball and denison and then the market tanked and the stopped and i heard sold it to something involved with nbaf or something. i can check into this but i'm pretty sure there is no rule.

On top of all of that, say we do build over there...it would be kind of weird building a really, really nice practice facility across the street and then right outside of the practice field you'd see a bunch of metal sheds with farm equipment in there.

No offense to the rural contingent, but that seems counterproductive to what we'd try to accomplish with that facility.

I'm not sure under which circumstances a previous owner could influence the purpose of property sold.  I suppose a conservation easement might be possible.   :dunno:
