Nightmare on No Elms Street is really shaping up.  And as this image clearly shows, the trees would have been a complete pedestrian nightmare.

Not a nightmare = vast expanses of uninterrupted asphalt and concrete.

I've never understood what the big deal about a connector would be. Would need to see rendos I guess. But there are still at least 5 other major projects I'd rather do before a connector.

I see the "connection" as extending Bram towards BSFS over the South concourse.  Adding fixed restrooms and concessions.  Top portion (where the Legends room is located) is extended and remodeled into an elite lounge area for rich alumni (that can be utilized during basketball season as well).  The JumboTron is removed and a new one is placed on top of the new lounge suite/Bram structure.

So if you had to choose N or S in the next 5 years, which would it be? Gotta be Vanier, right?

I'm hoping we don't have to choose.  If we have to choose, we're not doing it right.  N is the expensive one so we need to pull trigger on it first.  S would be less expensive and easily completed between seasons (could even be done at same time as N).

Tough question.  Vanier, probably.  SConcourse is attractive because it would be revenue generating for both fball and bball, theoretically. 

For the long term health of the football program, though, Vanier 2.0 is absolutely necessary and we need to strike while the iron's hot.

Isn't our castle going to have flags? I was envisioning a flag perched on each of the bulwarks, plus the two towers, but I don't see any in the renderings. Would have been an excellent way to add powercats and patriotism.

I think this is a great idea, but only if the flags are more powercats.  Because, you know, powercats right?

From this distance, I don't actually think all the powercats look that bad. Still prolly just got away with the big one and then the black ones in the railing that you can barely see. Still, I'm pretty meh about all the cats.

This would make a neat background for a game where the big daddy kat chases the little ones around the WSC and tries to gobble them up pac-man style. Anyone good at making iPhone games? Random killer trees could sprout up as obstacles, too, but I'm just spitballin here.

What's the big benefit with connecting BSFS and OOD?

Revenue.  Just another dual purpose premium amenity for our rich fans to gobble up that can be used throughout the year.

Make the Legends Room an actual club space and not a tiny piece of crap off the fOOD, which it mostly is now.

 

More suites and some sort of a big reception hall/pregame food and booze area in the south endzone that connects to the Bram.  That way we could use it for the big donors as sort of a club level before/half/after football and basketball games.  Make it very elite.  Could also serve as a great place to host events, wedding receptions, etc. and would be a money maker all year round.  Would be like that big area at Arrowhead behind the suites, except usable for multiple sports.  Make it a 2 story ceiling and have 2 tiers of suites there in the endzone.  Could make them varying sizes and styles to fit the demand and leave 2-6 of them empty and available for rental by the game.  No clue on the amount of people on the suite waiting list but you would think two levels could mean 12-20 additional suites??(no clue) 

Knock out about the top 5 rows that are currently there so the total capacity stays within 1-2k and most of those would be $$ seats with additional booze revenue and premium pricing.  Would have the built in concessions like any normal pro stadium(think kauffman or something simple) below the suites that would make for better food/drink offerings for those in the south endzone and would make for a better SRO area even without booze.  Leave the corners both open so we could have that picnic/park area on one side and the hotel thing on the other.  Maybe even throw a skywalk between the hotel and the new "town hall" booze area that you get access to for gameday with your super expensive 2 night stay.  All these are revenue generating ideas that really dont affect Bill or normal operations for anyone.

Also, I guess you could say that this could force them to look at sprucing up the Bramlage exterior, which is another positive.

I think I'm buying into having Vanier 2.0 on the East side, with something similar to this on the North end. (possibly the worlds largest scoreboard, would settle for smaller.)

I mean, think about the views of the setting, it wouldn't increase capacity much, allows for locker rooms/concession stands/restrooms/etc, and leaves the south for more suites/premium seating.

Maybe not, tho.. Sorry, it's a Monday

I think we should put K-State's locker room in the new state of the art complex, but just leave a spot under the new north side bleachers with a bench and a port-a-potty with no door for the visiting team's locker room.
