Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.

As long as the condo/hotel tower at LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium is at least 8 stories and is made out of limestone with a top level restaurant and rooftop pool with a bar and is an A Loft we'll be good.
Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

a hotel/condo would do well there.  the hospital, nbaf, and all the stadiums will be right there.  probably be a transit system on campus by then too with a stop at the sports complex.

Hadn't heard about the HI Express. Where's that slated?

Also, I'm not in the hotel industry.  Somebody tell me if 12 motels in a 50k college metro is appropriate.  Serious question.  I have no idea.

Market may be saturated.  But to my knowledge, there's not a single motel/hotel in the northwest part of town, where the most growth is happening.  A hotel in that area is inevitable.  BSFS seems like a good anchor spot.

Mixed use, boutique condo/hotel seems like it would work.

with some retail and dining in there as well it would be a very unique/cool place to stay.  if a company like marriot, starwood, etc., does it, they'll be able to absorb the losses during the slow months easier than a local owner.  I mean just imagine the westin snyder stadium, god that would be so elite.

Snyder fires construction workers that look at the field too long, you really think he is going to allow someone's home to view the field?

Whoever builds/operates the hotel is going to be pissed when they are told they aren't allowed to landscape it because someone might have to take an extra three steps around a bush or tree on their way to the stadium.

this is probably a post-snyder project I would think, or else currie will just tell him to deal with it, which is probably one of currie's biggest strengths as our ad

HI Express was cleared with the Candlewood.  Originally they were both going to be across Ft. Riley from Famous Daves.  They did some ground tests or whatever and the rock underneath would be expensive as crap to build on so they moved the Candlewood across from the Convention Center (which the convention center was pissed about).  Candlewood is extended stay and could've done a lot better with Ft Riley business in the original location.  I hear its struggling a bit and that may delay the HI (same ownership).

Also, doubt Marriott would run the new hotel or SPG unless it is ran by the same people that own the current brand properties in town.  Usually when you open the first or a brand in the area, you buy the rights to the brand in the area.  So Fairfield/Courtyard owners could create hell for any other Marriott brand coming into MHK.

I hope they build the hotel.  I think it is risky but could work if the area expands/NBAF brings in an absurd amount of people.  Public transit would be a big help, though I'm sure they would have to do free shuttles to campus.

Have any of you goofs tried to book a hotel room in Manhattan during the week???  The rundown Fairfield charges like $109 a night.  If this hotel by the stadium has clean sheets and complementary breakfast occupancy would be 90%+.

Side note:  has anyone stayed at the new Hilton at the convention center?  Was going to book it, but its $149 p/nt pretax. :sdeek:
