Yeah, not factoring in a lack of space is admittedly a little K-State0.

It really is. I would rather just get rid of a few parking places and keep the trees.

understand what you are saying, but for me, it's hard to see rendero's of a beautiful castle with nice green trees for contrast, only to get the cheapest part of that entire picture stripped away because of awful planning.

Yeah, it's the mismatched turf fiasco all over again, only this time it's worse. The very least they could do is replace the trees with some nice shrubbery. That wouldn't take much space at all, and would really green the place up.

Not sure if serious, but in case you are -- there's plenty of landscaping around the building to the north and south ends, just not around the places of high foot and vehicle traffic.

Was not "stripped away due to awful planning". The trees were added by the artist in the renderings that were produced way, way before any construction documents were even created. Those trees were only in the very first set of renderings, and once the actual site plan was done they were not included as it became very clear there just isn't a good way to have them there without causing some major traffic flow issues.

Not a big deal  :dunno:

Every time I see a picture of the new construction, I was an faded overlap of the old pressbox to reinstate how much bigger this is.

I understand it's "not a big deal", but you cannot deny that the trees would definitely enhance the look of the stadium walking up to the gate.  The BTF is a nice looking facility.  It is enhanced by the landscaping in front of the building and on the sides.  If there was just concrete in front of it, it would look weird and not as appealing.  That's all.

I guess I focus more on the massive sweet looking building than a handful of trees... but to each their own.

I don't think we should ever be completely satisfied with what we have. We need to look at what we get compared to what we could have had and stew on any shortcomings so that mistakes don't get repeated and we don't become complacent.

I guess I don't view it as a mistake or a shortcoming. There will be plenty of stuff around the building to make it look great from the outside, there just won't be giant tree planters that block high traffic areas. Am genuinely confused by this entire conversation.

how much space does a tree take up?  a foot?

Not enough room.  Lol.  There's only like a million uninterrupted square feet of asphalt in the West parking lot.

In addition to looking nice, I would imagine that our players would like to sit in the shade underneath one of our trees in front of beautiful BSFS after a hard summer practice. Sometimes we need to think of the players, too.

Trees really don't impede foot traffic, either.

Limestone wall is my biggest concern now.  Not that WSC isn't incredible, its just that it requires no concern.

i think we can all agree that the trees make the WSC look better, and to say having landscaping on the north and south sides of it will make up for it doesn't really make any sense.
