Also, I have to ask (anyone that will answer or know), are they ever looking at aesthetically enhancing the exterior of Bramlage?  What about doing some interior renovations as well?

Yes, renovation of Bramlage is on the list. Not sure of timeframe, might be either before 2013-14 season or 14-15. Would include concourse, concessions, interior walls (where NCAA tourney years are) and video board. Extra office space expansion is being examined.

Not sure about exterior, might get some cosmetic stuff but honestly within 5 years or so you really might not be able to see much of Bramlage itself with the BTF and Phase 4 stuff in the way...

You know we're not dealing with some small-timey crap when we've got cranes that big. :ksu:

Should be some interesting stuff happening in next couple weeks. This week and next the big tower cranes should be getting fully assembled, next week or week after the Cats Closet building will be torn down.

Thanks as always CC.

Can you report, or do you know where they stand in terms of starting Phase III??

Hearing that certain parts of Phase 3 are being fast-tracked, things that aren't new square footage projects such as the weight center, recruiting lounge, and alumni seating area. The other parts of phase 3 are what is being targeted for quick turnaround. Not sure if they'll be in place for 2013 or 2014. Rest of phase 3 and 4 are probably going to be combined into one big fundraising effort similar to the BTF. Heard there is significant interest in some sort of living/hotel/dining area, basically would require AthDept to "rent" that space out to a 3rd party that would operate (which would allow for )

If it takes a crane to build a crane, how was the first one built?

Thoughts, PW?

Possible the"Fan Amenities" would be in the "square footage" stuff.  Just depends what those amenities are (if they are Rest Rooms, Concessions, etc, then I would think they would fall under "square footage").

lol @ the thought of bramlage being completely surrounded on 3 sides by new buildings.  we're already pretending we don't have a basketball program anymore, why not hide the stadium while we're at it?

what does that entail?  just general upgrading of concessions stands?  seating?

I'm most excited for an upgraded north end videoboard and ribbon boards along the east side club level and WSC

Not sure if serious, but it's always been somewhat hidden by FB to the north, now will be hidden by basketball BTF facility on one side, would be hidden on W side by ATH building that would also benefit fans on ball gamedays. I know you guys are massively butthurt about Frank leaving and are finding perceived slights around every turn (a very Frank thing to do I guess), but being upset about massive facility growth hiding an ugly ball building is impressive.

Heard it would basically blow out the entire lower floor below the legends room and convert it to restrooms and concessions. Much larger concourse area there

not at all serious, I actually didn't melt down too hard over frank leaving, and bramlage should be hidden or have its exterior upgraded, sorry if that came out wrong

Just saw a third smaller crane behind that second crane.

Maybe it is just a series of cranes that keeps shrinking till a four year old with an erector set puts the first one together.

The great puzzles of life.

Perhaps it's like this?

do you think the concourse will extend all the way to bramlage or will there still be an avenue/walkway for people to walk from one parking lot to the other on the south side without entering the stadium?

the way he describes it sounds like it would go right up to the bram. hopefully they leave a way to go through without entering the stadium... that would suck if you were trying to hit tailgates on either side.

i'm not really sure how they could do both. underground tunnel? i don't care either way personally.
