Storm, either say something or go back to tuckville.

Just worried that with the NBAF losing its funding our administration will be worried about driving such a project forward.

The only phase tied to potential growth from NBAF was the upper deck expansion.  Everything up to Phase 5 seems solvent without it.

Screw the NBAF...what about $5/gallon gas?  :runaway:

It's gonna be hella expensive to charge up those Tesla coils.

Nothing is official until the budget is voted on.  My guess is it will get put back in some how.  Obama just doesn't want to give that much money to a republican state in an election year.

Besides, NBAF isn't funding the stadium expansion.

From what I've been told, a lot of what will fund further expansion will come from how well we sell the suites and at what price we do.

We should create a nerd competition that can be held at the stadium to help fund expansion.  LHC Bill Snyder Family and Mutant Gladiator Arena of Death

The notion that NBAF transplants will quickly give a crap about KSU athletics is one that I don't get.  I mean I suppose a fraction of these science nerds could be sorta into sports, maybe catch one game a year, but I don't see any giant jump coming from this on a regular scale.  I mean, I've lived in Minnesota for two years and rough ridin' love sports. Guess how many gopher sporting events I've been to.

If NBAF can lure other development/research companies to the region, it would affect suite sales.

Nothing better for a college football team than rich assholes trying to one-up other rich assholes by entertaining them in elite suites while none of the assholes pay attention to the game.

I guess that's right. But lots of dumbasses on kstatefans are all "we should probably enlarge the stadium to like at least 90,000 or 100,000, you know, because of NBAF and so we can have a seat at the big kids' table when realignment rolls around again.  :users:

55,000 seats filled every Saturday, 80 suites sold, 3,000 club seats sold . . . would be outstanding, and frankly quite impressive for a school nearly in the middle of Kansas, with a major rival in-state and just right down the road.

It's not the transplants, it's their offspring we need to focus on. A bunch of young, handsome, NBAF employees moving to Manhattan and starting families. It's their kids that will wave the EMAW and townie flags of the future.

True. Which is why I think we should wait to enlarge our stadium to 100,000 until AT LEAST Phase 5 or 6.

We're also making folks pay a fairly premium price for those seats, relatively speaking.

I "think" we could probably fill a 60K seat stadium, but we'd have to start changing how we price the seats.  It would have to be like most NFL stadiums where lower level is X, club level is Y, and upper deck is Z (or something like that).

You can always fill seats if the product is good and you price it right.  Depending on demand for club seats, loge seats, suites, etc., I'm all for completing the bowl and wrapping club seats and an upper deck around the South end.  That would most likely put us at 60k (or a little above), and we could most likely sell those seats IF we start looking at hitting multiple price points as opposed to higher baseline flat rates and utilizing donations to get you into certain sections.

it was, like, 2 years ago that we weren't filling a 50k seat stadium so let's not get ahead of ourselves here.  adding seats should be phase 75 or something.

Adding seats is stupid unless we're willing to price 10k seats at .50 cents a pop - Which is something I'm not really against, but it'd have to be Family Reunion cheap every game to fill it up
