Adding seats is stupid unless we're willing to price 10k seats at .50 cents a pop - Which is something I'm not really against, but it'd have to be Family Reunion cheap every game to fill it up
yes
Question: What would make more money from non-club seating?
45k in sales at $45 a ticket? ($2.025 million)
57k in sales at $45 a ticket for 35k seats (estimate for lower bowl) and 22k at an average of $30 bucks a pop? ($1.575 million + $660k = $2.235 million)
You can manipulate it even more by making upper deck seats between the 20's more, those in the corner less, and mix in some family packs for every game.
Even if we upped it to 60k and averaged 57k with a different pricing structure, we'd probably still make as much or more money if we just got creative with the pricing models. Also, even if it were a wash in terms of ticket revenue, the additional 10k attendees would be buying concessions, and potentially adding more donors to the Ahearn fund, which would net more money overall.
It could be a successful model if it enhances multiple revenue streams, and it would also make the program more attractive if/when the NCAA evolves again in terms of consolidation and realignment.
