The rendering appear to have the club level, the loge level, and then 2 suite levels, and finally the press level above.  In the description they just talk about one level of suites.  probably a dumb question, just wanted to get this thread back up top because i'm real excited about this thing.     2 levels of suites or just 1?

Just skimmed through most of this thread, our pressbox is going to look much, much better than Texas Tech's.  Also, the current renderings look like a lot nicer of a design than the Populous ones.  Also, pretty funny part where sodj got pretty mad we weren't using Populous.  Dax, your thoughts on current plans?

I talked to my friend for about 45 minutes last night, and we talked about the stadium stuff.  Here are some of the highlights I remember:

• His understanding is that we're considering "fundraising" on $25 million.  $50 million of that is based on the debt servicing.  So, estimates say we're at $8 million now, and the target to break ground is somewhere in the neighborhood of 12.5-15 million.
• I asked him what he thought of it, and he said, "Have you seen what Tech did?  That's exactly what we're doing.  Except with limestone."
• He commented that there's going to be a huge amount of limestone (obviously).
• We talked about the phases in the master plan.  He said that based on what he's heard, at least some of the stuff in phase 4 is "guaranteed" to happen.  So, everything we see in Phase 3, it's gonna happen.  Probably that fun zone thing in Phase 4.  I said based on our previous conversations, I assumed that Vanier was phase 6 because at that point, it would be somewhat old and dated and the donors would want to spruce it up anyway.  He said that was exactly what he heard.
• Future phases are most likely going to be determined, partially, on how well the suites sell and for how much.

I may have missed a couple of details in there, but this is what I got.  Nothing earth shattering at all.  I was happy to hear that we'll most likely get into at least Phase 4 because the Phase 3 stuff looked good.

There will be a limestone field wall.  When I asked about it, he said it's like what Missouri did about ten years ago when they put brick around the field (I can't verify this was ten years ago, but whatever.)

The LED video ribbon will be where we currently have the Ring of Honor stuff.

The vendors in tents in the South endzone will go away.  That will become more formal build.

If I remember correctly, we're going to get a new videoboard in the NEZ.  I asked if we were just going to take the existing one and move it over there, and he said he was pretty sure we'd have two.

He then said we'd fill in the "pie piece" between the west side bowl and Vanier.


That's really all I have.

It's the same type of project.  Not that it's a carbon copy of Tech.  Same scale, same essential bones, etc.  Which makes sense because the AD took people to look at Tech's last year.

On the money part, he just said that we need to fund raise 50-60% of the 25 million, not 50-60% of the 75 million.  The 8 million came from me based on what I saw on the kstatesports.com website.  He said they wouldn't have gone this far if they weren't sure they'd get the money.

He didn't know.  He's downstream a bit.  He gets high level info because he's a part of the project as a whole.  Some of it is probably rumor, but it's obviously coming from someone with knowledge.
