Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.

Guys, guys....I'm sure Currie will explain, in detail, why they went with the Atlanta firm.  Just sit back and let Currie inform us of his precise reasons.

Yes.  I'm sure Currie will provide a detailed, logical explanation as to why he decided to hire an Atlanta based architect mostly known for hospitals and corporate office buildings.

And decided to walk away from Kansas City based Populous, world renowned sports architecture practice, known for designing Yankees Stadium and the 2012 London Olympics main stadium, employer of over 40 K-State architects and a 15 year working relationship with K-State athletics.

As long as the stadium looks nice, IDGAF who designs it. I'm not going to bitch unless it looks like crap. I also DGAF about how many K-State grads the firm employs.

I'm hearing Currie wants the press box to double as a hospital so that injured players don't have to be carted all the way across the parking lot.

If they're hurt really bad, than that 300 yards closer can mean all the difference

I understand the need for immediate eye hernia attention but KSU just passed over the best sports architecture firm in the world.

Something stinks.

Pretty much everything we have is really ugly.  Even the stuff that's supposed to be nice or "fancy" or whatever.  Worrying about this sort of thing at this stage seems pointless.

Wait to see the renderings to start bitching, you rubes.  It's not like Heery is some mom and pop firm.  They've done football work with Texas, TAMU, Arkansas and most relevantly, Maryland.  I say "most relevantly" because their work with Maryland was primarilly a press box expansion/renovation and if ours is any way similar, it'd be hard to be disappointed.

For reference, google "Tyser Tower" to see pictures of Maryland's press box.  It looks like just about everything we want.

I heard they are using limestone for 90% of it and then the last column will be brick covered with linoleum.

Heery has teamed with AECOM (formerly Ellerbe Becket).  Sports Architecture branch of AECOM is located in KCMO.

Still sucks.  Populous is the best in the biz. They should have gotten the job.

I heard the last part was to be done in wood panelling.

Populous / HOK Sport is about as bush league as it gets.  The fact that they're doing the 2012 London Olympic main stadium is a total joke.
Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008
