C'mon. Not happening with Old Ballz's hatred of the term "K-State."

I'd love it if Currie vetoed him on this.  I'd be absolutely elated to see him stick it to Snyder like that.

Has it actually been documented that OBz hates the term 'K-State,' or is that just conjecture from all his interviews?

I know for a fact that OB has already struck down the alternating striped field pattern like below.  I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that OB is going to basically emulate 100% the design of what we have currently, with the possibility of maybe using the correct type face for the lettering in the endzones.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Turf will be in use long after OB is gone so do not think he will get much say in it esp the endzones. Admin will not pass up a branding opportunity

Let's just say, there is one person dictating the design of the field and he possesses zero design qualification and he's really old and curmudgeony.

actually.... he didn't even do that.... he just said, we should design a new logo.... which I wouldn't even swear he did that.  He was just here when it happened.

Doesn't he at least get credit for telling the guy to completely rip off the Iowa Hawkeye?

It's not a rip off if the same artist designed both of them.

and I doubt OBz had anything to do with it beyond the statement "KSU needs a new identity"  before someone dealing with marketing in the AD ran with the idea of a total re-design.   What some of these "LHC Bill Snyder IS GOD" people forget is how skeptical everyone was when Young Balls middle-aged balls arrived on the scene.   Like the AD was just going to hand over the keys to an up and coming Snyder.

Just attended the Wichita Bar Association luncheon and John Currie was the featured speaker.  He was asked about the endzones.  He said, "what would you like to see?"  The questioner said he would like to see purple endzones.  Currie's response, "You'll be pleasantly surprised."
