Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.

Never got why they spent all that money and still left some of the older buildings.

I assume they are still working on them. Pretty sure they didn't tear down the old ones. Just did significant renovations. Could be wrong though. It has been over ten years since that project started...

Given that we are solidly in a malaise.  I strongly recommend the conversion to chairbacks.

Comforting up BSFS and right sizing to 47,000 is a good plan for the long haul.

Pass outs and full stadium booze drink sales also.

Got to turn BSFS into a massive social event since the football won’t be much to speak of.

I see your chairbacks and raise you "with integral heated cushions" (not included in the visitor section, obvs). When we suck this much crap and its cold and windy the only way anybody is going to stick it out is heated seats.

i would have guessed all but like 4 of them were demolished!

it looks like there were 21 buildings originally, and only two were demolished. a few have had major structural renovations but most of them still look the same on the outside. there are also like 16 new buildings that have been built since 2007-ish

I always found it funny that they essentially built the new buildings around the perimeter of the area to basically hide the crappy buildings from standard view.

The old buildings are for actual international  graduate student families, the new ones were for “married” and “family” housing but were always priced for students with roommates.

Every home game I've attended this season has reminded me how lucky we are to have such a nice home stadium. BSFS has become a true gem, and imo, a model of how to do things right in expansion and updates.

I'm hard-pressed to imagine another under-60k stadium being its equivalent. Anyone have any good comparisons that are "on par" w/ BSFS?

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Never been but Baylor is probably pretty nice. Minnesota maybe? Haven't been to a ton of CFB stadiums, but yes I'd imagine BSFS is pretty nice

I think TCU has a pretty nice stadium as well which is on the lower end capacity

TCU has a nice campus/stadium but I think our stadium is better and our parking situation is elite and very underrated despite the snob hill criticism.

Baylor cut corners on cost and it's very apparent.

Yep, anyone who's seen that stadium in person can tell they didn't have the money to do it "right".

How is ASU's renovation of Sun Devil stadiu?

Also, didn't realize Houston's TDECU Stadium was only 40k capacity.

I really like Boone Pickens as well.

Well, while it should seat closer to 50k, they somehow think it's a 60k stadium so it wouldn't fit in the category nicname brought up.

They did some more renovations mid-2010s & it’s only 55,000 now. They’ve only had 1 game over 60,000 & haven’t had anyone over 56,000 after 2016.

Ah crap, you’re right. My bad.

I still think we should start building a garbage hill north of BSFS.

I was in the shamrock zone thing for the game this weekend. It’s v nice. Felt like I was watching the game at a casino or something though. You’re so far away from the action, I’m not sure I’d want to go back. Go cats.

I felt like the atmosphere in the stadium around kickoff was was good on Saturday. Not as good as the 2012 night games against oSu and TX but still pretty good.  :emawkid:

I thought the atmosphere was good at the beginning, and awful after halftime.  Additionally, K-State Athletics needs to stop letting people leave at halftime.  Really just kills the atmosphere.

Pretty sad to see Skylar getting helped off of the field on Senior Night as fans were pouring out of the exits.
