They need to doze the shithole east side before putting much more than the updates they're doing now. Focus on indoor facility, SEZ, and then a brand new ESCish type structure.

East side would be fine if a nice facade was blocking its unsightly guts.

The thing is, this admin wouldn't spend an extra couple thousand to make the field turf aesthetically pleasing, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit to waste 15 mill to put lipstick on the stuck in the 90's east side pig of a structure.

20 years ago in 8th grade me's art classroom we had stacks of magazines for collage material.  Someone brought in a K-State magazine that had an article & renderings of the east side that they hadn't started on yet.  I spent a lot of time studying those renderings.  If you showed this to 8th grade me, I'd probably have an aneurism from excitement when I saw the 2 screens.

All of the nitpicking aside, I am really proud of how much progress our stadium has made in the last 20 years... just crazy to think where our facilities were then and where they are now.  I hope we keep the accelerator shoved down and keep building (within our budget).


Holding all KU jokes, it is clear to me that KU sees the need to have a stadium better than ours for recruiting, realignment, etc. reasons.  My hope is that we keep driving the wedge between us and them.

I blame the shitty weather in like 3 of the games on this rather than systemic lack of enthusiasm. The TCU, OU, and WVU were all fairly miserable games to want to go to even if we had won them or we had a better record.

craziness.  i agree that eastside upper deck corners are lousy seats and, in a perfect world, we'd distribute those seats elsewhere, but our capacity is just fine.

November 21st, 2015. A 3-6 Cats team against Iowa State at 11am, wind chill in the teens. SELLOUT
November 25th, 2017. A Cats team that just beat a top 15 OSU team. Can't "sellout" on a 70 degree day because it's 2 days after a holiday.

Unless the team is surprisingly really good, or until there is an exciting new coach. I see attendance dropping like almost everywhere else in the country.

I think 45-48K is perfect for a K-State football stade moving forward. Just like I think 9-10k is perfect for a K-State basketball arena.
