Honestly I think the stadium looks great.  Aesthetically speaking, I think the LSOC will help quite a bit, as would adding a facade to the east side.

Otherwise, replacing the crappy turf and the south video board is all we have left.

turf, all the way to a limestone wall, sound system, and maybe a large south video board.. do just that, and i honestly hope they don't put a dime into the east side until a completely new structure will be planned (possibly south and east at the same time). It would be wasting money like the shitty upgrades to Vanier in 06 or whenever that was.

pretty sure an east side facade would be done cheaply since it isn't revenue producing and be underwhelming especially compared to how the outside of WSC looks.  I'd rather they wait and then blow up East side, and make something that wraps around the south (asymmetrical!)

The east side itself isn't bad.  Just cover up the dumb bathrooms (with the facade) and maybe renovate the concourse a little bit.  The seating/structure is fine.

They did something like that at UW a couple years back. Blew up the north side and re-built it and then made a bowl on the west side. Cost about 300 million, but man is that stadium lit now. All that's semi-open is the east side which looks on to Lake Washington. I believe someone posted photos in this thread about it a long time back. Will never happen at K-State bc they had to close the stadium for a year and play at Century Link.

also, the reason they did that at UW is because their old stadium was kind of a nightmare with the track situ.

our stadium's basic setup is just about perfect for us.  building some kind of seating structure on the south side makes zero sense to me.

yeah, great pt. the track was awful. and they also connected it with the "light rail," so it made sense to do the re-build in concert with the transportation project.

Aren't there plans to renovate the east side suites and club level in the near future?

The redo of section 1 allowed us to get a block of 12 non-donation seats together a couple rows from the top in the angled section.  They are 1 section close to mid-field than the angled seats in the south end zone.  I'd already donated, so I used that to get a couple in the 2nd row of the upper deck at the 20ish.  In all, this renovation worked out pretty well for me.

There are many ways we could add a structure to the south and re-build the east (all of which to add more conformity/symmetry with the WSC) and actually not add much to capacity, if at all. Only issue would be cost and timelines, but the stadium would look much better.

But I agree, adding a mostly seating structure to the south at this point makes no sense.

the south side luxury seating/skybox that connects in with an expanded legend's room in Bramlage would be sexy AF and there is nothing anyone can say to make me change my mind.

Sure the stadium could be even better then it is now,  but it's improved greatly and the one thing about it that boatloads of college stadiums still can't say is that things like restrooms and concessions are all less then 20 years old, and not skank ass rat holes like in many college stadiums.

My wants:

A mini WSC on the East Side, anything on the scale of WSC on the East is a total waste of money, but when they renovate the East club level and suites if they want to build a mini WSC to add additional club spaces and amenities that would be cool.    Nearly all stadiums have somewhat unappealing risers and beams showing on their upper level, but a mini WSC that runs from say the 35 to the 35 would break that up substantially.

I would prefer that they just went ahead and mirrored the North Video-boards on the South creating the best overall AV experience in college football.

Renovate Bramlage extensively and in the process create a club that overlooks the stadium with maybe 1200-1500 high end outdoor seats that are connected to the Bramlage Club, and then redo the entirety of concessions and restrooms in the North endzone.    As part of the Bramlage remodel move the entirety of Athletic administration back to Bramlage and back out of new Vanier.

Obviously the limestone wall.

In la-la land I would truly love to see them blow up the entirety of Brandenbury, RV Christian Track, and the large indoor facility and start over.    In place of Brandenbury build a substantial complex that houses baseball, soccer, and track and field that is all encompassing with dedicated dressing rooms for each, a strength center, sports medicine and admin offices for all sports housed within.   Adjust the placement of the outdoor track so as to allow both a new indoor track and new indoor facility supporting baseball and soccer to be built.  Let's be honest, it's time for the Ag School and athletics to strike a deal and for the Ag school to sell athletics the land right across the street from Vanier so a new indoor/outdoor football practice complex can be built.   There's acres and acres of land for Ag to play with nearby and all over the state, and that end of campus is rapidly being assimilated into the campus core.

LSU did their new south endzone for 80 million, and it added 9k seats. It is much bigger than what K-State should do but look at the template. Make the bottom two levels match the WSC club levels (possibly connected to the legends room in a middle section), a few rows of "GA type" above that and of course the video boards. Probably adds 6/7k seating, if that. Do something similar on the eastside (without the videoboards obvs) and you cut the capacity over there by 2/3k. So you're really only adding 3/4k or so to stadium capacity. Probably still too much, but it would only cost about $140-150 mill probs.

Somebody wake me up.

I like this concept that Arkansas is starting on after this season. obvs the lower portion is in place, and upper portion could just be suites or a party deck of some sort. Add in bathrooms and concessions on the concourse.

That's actually just a fan rendo, I think.

I believe this is their final plans for what they're trying to do.

adding two tiers in the endzone just looks so dumb and pieced together.  I understand why arky is renovating (because frankly, their current situ in that endzone funzone is a disaster).

I'd be fine adding some kind of suites in the south endzone, but i'm having a hard time envisioning how something like that would look without making our stadium look incredibly odd.

my vision wasn't adding two decks, just the concessions/bathrooms building with the rooftop and maybe some seating that overhangs. I don't think it would look all that weird. Would it look totally seamless between ESC, WSC, and SEZ? No, but they were built decades apart, so it would be nearly impossible to make it look the same.
