Also I'm perfectly happy with having a degree being a requirement for the ROH. Pretty sure you can be inducted into the karate K-State athletics hall of fame without a degree, that's enough.

I'm sure LHCBS decreed the requirements.

Outside of an untimely death halting the achievement, I'm mostly ok with a degree as a requirement.

The Ring of Honor is designed to recognize those in the football program who have distinguished themselves on and off the field. Among the criteria considered is graduation from Kansas State with a student-athlete having been out of school for at least five years, quality of character, whether the person is an excellent representative of K-State and whether a person has achieved performance that warrents consensus All-America level status at Kansas State University.

Quote from GPC. Added emphasis.

Quote
And discovered that they were working today (Memorial Day) on Vanier. Walked up the stairs on the east side to look out onto the field. Wow! The new video board is massive and the stands on the north end are going to funnel even more noise onto the field, making it an even more intimidating venue for opponents. Looks like they are putting some kind of new facade on the outside of the east stands. Left quickly before security could haul us out. Can't wait for football season to start! EMAW!

Thoughts?

Facade on east side of Vanier right? Needs pics.

That was my initial thought as well. But he said they walked up the stairs on the east side to look at the field, which I interpreted to mean he walked up the stairs to the upper deck. He later said they were putting up a facade on the east stands, which I interpreted to still mean the upper deck. I don't know. Someone in Manhattan could easily settle this for us... Hint, hint.

I drive by quite often and it looks like the exterior work has slowed considerably. I assume they're making good progress on the inside, though.

I have some photos of the east facade from two weeks ago. It had its limestone on. I'll post in a few hours if nobody else does first.

I can confirm that Bishop was at the UT game a couple of years ago and pak'd with us for a couple of hours. He was a good dude. Quiet and unassuming. He had his nephew with him, who was in juco somewhere and wanted to play D1 football. He was pretty small.

I met a lot of really great former Cats that day. ;)

Report from Kellis says $10K for 150 tickets. I am assuming food/beverage is additional, but that seems pretty reasonable.

well........kinda

The two-tier Wabash Landing will be an attractive opportunity for groups of up to 150 guests to watch the Wildcats. Starting at an estimated cost of $10,000 per game, the Wabash Landing will include 100 game tickets and access to a catered concessions buffet with a variety of premium food items, soft drinks, beer and wine (through the end of halftime). Groups will be required to purchase the entire space and will have access to up to 50 additional tickets depending on the size of their party.

A minimum of 100 tickets sounds like a lot. I understand that they would like to sell the whole thing at once, but that doesn't seem realistic.

1) we rent that rough rider out with fattyfund money
2) we charge everyone $150+ a head to get into the thing
3) we get blackout (until the end of halftime)
4) we donate the proceeds back to the fattyfund
we're going to need a 100 person commitment from you people before we put this plan into action

They might as well rename this area the "Go Emaw Party Porch"
