I would like someone to mail me that K sign. Would consider picking it up.

Admittedly, I don't know much about construction/destruction but how much of the limestone in the current vanier can/will be salvaged and re-used elsewhere in the project(s)?

Do they try to save &/or re-use?  Or is it just all hauled off somewhere?

nope........they do separate the iron from copper ect..........at some point, you'll see the different piles to be hauled off.........some of those metal prices are pretty decent

Would be sweet to repurpose some of that stone for an outdoor fireplace or some such

A Canadian friend of mine wants some of the stone to make a sacrificial altar.

Not that new Vanier isn't white hot sexy.   But I just wonder what a state of the art practice, office and training complex built next to the stadium would have been like?   Then just redo the North Endzone with stadium stuff, scoreboards and game day dressing rooms..

i know we've all went back on forth about it never happening, but didn't someone itk come in here and confirm the reason the new vanier is taller and not as spread out (especially north), is due to plans for a practice facility across kimball and needing to widen the road/possible pedestrian bridge/etc.? maybe i'm making that up, tho.

They won't salvage the limestone for this project. I've seen demo contractor salvage brick before, but it seemed like a lot of work to clean each individual brick.

Most likely it will all just be crushed and used as subgrade somewhere random 10 years from now

Gotcha.  Thanks...  That's kind of what I was thinking; that it would be too much of a PITA to try to salvage and reuse those limestone bricks for anything. But like I said, I know diddly squat about this type of stuff.

can this be considered a form of salvaging? or is "recycling" a step down from "salvaging" in the hierarchy of demolition re-uses?

why does it look like nothing has happened today?  I would have thought the Vanier would be almost gone by now.

Obvs you can't see what they got torn out on the front side, but they pulled up most of the players ramp to the field and knocked out some walls on the field side today.
