The rake of the NEZ seating will be much steeper than the rest of the bowl.

Would like as close to a flush, uniform look as possible. But really I will take just about anything that gets the current pizza slice section of the End Zone Fun Zone out of there.

The idea is that the entire NEZ complex needs to be elevated so that 360 concourse connectivity is possible.  The rake is more severe for this reason, if I understood it correctly.  Think about how much higher the east and west concourses are than vanier.  Unless you wanted people to hVe to walk down a crap ton of steps and then back up another flight on the other side, the area needs to be elevated.  I also understand they want the facility to be closer to the field, which is harder to accomplish with a more gradual rake.  Uniformity is something you don't need to worry about.

Xactly. The biggest advantage of a steeper grade to the NEZ seating is that it allows Vanier and more rows of seating to be closer to the field. Works better with the tunnels, too. It's a no-brainer.

The northern-most section in the student section will be eliminated to make the east and west sides even across. Not sure what this does to overall capacity.

Is this super duper for sure? Because good rough ridin' riddance to those Kyle Field'y seats. Wooftown.

This!!  Those seats in the northern most section of both the east and west side are the worst. Especially the first 15-20 rows.

John Currie's most recent letter doesn't mention a tentative timeline.  2015 seems a bit early and previous articles indicated that projects would probably run through 2017.  All we got out of Currie was "stay tuned".  I wonder if he might be waiting to make the big announcement in front of a large audience.  Spring game perhaps?
