I think d1 soccer only requires 11 full scholarships, it would be pretty cheap to add womens and mens.

Not going to ever happen unless the NCAA tries to force us to add more.

It's sad because I think Old Stadium would be a great venue for Men's and Women's soccer.

I know they're doing some things with the insides of both East and West Stadiums, but I think you could figure some stuff out to make it work.

I think in the next 20-25 years soccer has a chance to pass baseball in popularity, and personally I enjoy watching the sport much more than I ever thought I would've 5 years ago. So yeah I'd love a k-state soccer team to watch, but I do agree that it definitely won't be happening any time soon.

We should add women's nascar.

LaCrosse is more popular and way cooler than soccer, so add that for men.

I completely forgot to post this yesterday. Got an email from the Ath Dept that said the following. At this pace, I expect the season to be sold out by July 1st (barring any tickets returned from opponents).


Don't delay! Limited tickets available, and going fast.

SFA - less than 20 singles plus SRO
Auburn - sold out
UTEP - less than 20 singles plus SRO
TT - singles only
UT - singles plus SRO
OSU - less than 20 singles plus SRO
KU - less than 200 tickets left (30 seats together)

In other words, as of now K-State is telling the KBOR aka Board of Regents and KBOR Facilities staff that Phase III (new Vanier) will commence at some point during FY 2015, which starts on 7/1/2014.   Since the project start date is now slated for the day after the last home football game, that will take it into FY 2016, and the NE Endzone will go into FY 2017.   They have to tell the KBOR estimated outlay by FY.

so the Bram score/video board upgrades will cost $2.4 million, that leaves $9.6 million for BSFS and the Toint, right?

we can do like, a lot of cool stuff with that much money, I think.

If they are gonna put in 2 video boards the size of the current SEZ in the north, and a huge one in the south, along with video ribbons(?) it will probably cost that much.  Just give Tointon, old SEZ board.  Take current NEZ minitron and give to the horsecats?

Or Old Stadium, would be boss for club soccer and Rugby to have that.

It was only speculation.   While the BSFS systems will be expansive, I don't think what is being bantered about for BSFS is going to take $8 or $9 million, so I speculate that part of that project would be the TFS.

In this day an age it is a little embarrassing that our baseball stadium doesn't already have a video board.   You can see how much the price has come down because LED boards are now the standard.   I would speculate that a project of similar scope for BW'sOOD would have been markedly more expensive a few years ago.    Basically K-State is getting a significantly improved set of systems for not much more than the video/audio upgrades that were done back in 2002-2003, and that project included the silly concourse graphics as designed by Mrs. Max Urick.
