I emailed the staff first about this situation, they responded back with very little words. So, that leads me to believe that they're okay with me sharing this.

I said this was big news, some might not see it as big news but I do and i'll explain why.

As everyone knows Dvonta, and Clarke are visiting this weekend. Dvonta is planning on talking to the coach's about Clarke. What he plans to tell them is that if K-STATE wants to secure his commitment to the cats, then they have to give Clarke an offer as well ( This is why I said some might view it as bad news) Now on to the good news, with this I believe that if Dvonta can sway the coach's into making an offer to Clarke then Clarke will pretty much commit on the SPOT. Like I have said before, these two are very close, and they want to continue their college careers with each other.

If this makes anyone worry that we might lose Dvonta if we don't offer Clarke, then stop worrying. I believe it is all just a ploy to get an offer for Clarke.  I know 100% that Dvonta isn't even thinking about other schools ( even the school he said was his dream school has a long shot). Dvonta is all KSTATE.

IMO- I expect an offer to be made this weekend.

If this thread needs to be removed, I am okay with that.

see you later dvonta

It would be Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) if the coaches didn't accept.*

*Assuming Clarke isn't some sort of qualifying risk.

Who cares if he's a qualifying risk? Worst case is we keep Dvonta and scramble to fill the ship late.

I disagree. Our coaches love to preach humility or whatever so they won't let a player know that he strong-armed them. They probably said "we'll take a good look at him and if he's a good fit with us, we'll extend an offer. We appreciate you letting us know about him" and then they'll wait a while and offer. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

I bet we were going to offer the kid anyway. best to do so before the other kid tells them to so they save face.

Yeah.  His video looks good, other offers look good, he has rapport with a LB he'd be playing next to, etc.

Our scouts called #KSU WR Kaleb Prewett sleeper of the Wildcat class. Makes solid catch for first down. A lot to like about him. #ROCKvsBS

Crabtree described a play where Lee grabbed the QB, the QB pitched it, and Lee then took down the RB he pitched it to.

From what I've gathered from those close to the program, it sounds like K-State isn't putting MIKE linebacker very high on the priority list for this class. I'm not sure if that limits a player like Clarke, who apparently is athletic enough to play any linebacker spot, but at least that's where K-State sees him fitting best. With the option of Truman sliding over next year, along with the growth of Will Davis and a slew of other walk-on types, the staff seems content.

With that being said, if I know anything about K-State's recruiting approach it's this: They're always evaluating. Whether that's their own team or that of a particular prospect, the objectives of the staff aren't set in stone prior to the season. LHC Bill Snyder's recruiting check list is always in a state of flux based on how 1) His players perform and 2) How certain targets perform. So they'll continue to watch Garden City closely to see more than 3 games worth of film, but at this point I don't believe any of the other 3 recruits, aside from Derricott, left Manhattan with a scholarship.

Wallace,
I have to tell you, I have had the opportunity to be on the field with Clarke this year and from a referees point of view, he was better in my game than Derrcot (sp). There was no question who was better the game I had him. In fact I thought Clarke was Derrcot until I heard the PA with the names. This is a HUGE miss if the cats do not offer this guy. Clarke plays ALOT like Terry Pierce used. Huge miss in my opinion!
