the recruiting services are good at identifying elite talent, which is why the numbers show that stars matter. any idiot could rank reggie bush a 5 star in high school and see he was going to do well in college and get drafted. the recruiting services are not as good at the 1-3 star level. for the most part they find their top 250 players and then just throw random ratings at the rest of the high school class. TL Ford's film looks like a 3 star, but he's rated a Rivals 2 star for whatever reason. who cares?
there are and always will be underrated players that slip through the cracks of recruit rankings and are rated below what they should be for whatever reason. any coach at kansas state, not just snyder, is going to need to be good at identifying and signing those types of players if we want to be successful.
