Alright, so we're clear, who does the bag of studs include?

we are, like, recruiting weirdly (for us)

This is what it was like in the summer of 2004.  Exactly.

These guys are probably qualifiers though.

And the emphasis on speed is alarming.

I think the Oregon game was a major eye-awakening moment for LHCBS and the staff, that they realized that they need to emphasize on more speed.

Our defense actually did pretty good in that game (granted, ABJR isn't walking through the door any time soon).  It was the Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) decision to kick to Deanthony Thomas and offensive ineptitude that doomed us.

This I would agree. But you can never have too many speed/burner guys, especially when there's that stupid 8th official spotting the ball immediately after the previous play is over, that the DB's will get tired after running all day, that you want your back-ups to have the equal speed to keep up with the receivers, or need a 8th man in the box to counter that read-option plays.

What I find it very very interesting is that all of the verbals are kids from HS, and not a single one from a JUCO ranks at this point.

I think Snyder is growing tired of JUCO guys.  The ones he's recruited lately are flaky or have trouble qualifying.

He'll go after obvious talents, and he'll get late pickups, but I think he's going to just bring in athletes and develop them.  We're going to see a greater emphasis on prep kids going forward.

Why is getting a whole bunch of two stars even being talked about?  How many of these guys do you think will actually see the field?  I know it's Bill and all, but come on, we shouldn't be that excited about some of these guys.

Jesus Christ, guys.  It's like we hit the goddamn reset button every year and talk about the same damn thing.
I'm sorry man, I just don't see why it's a big deal, I will watch film on em and see what's up.

Complaining about recruits before you have even watched film of them is pretty damn Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  The phrase "talking out of your ass" comes to mind.

Ryan Willis commited to KSU.

Guy I work with coached him a bit at OE, apparently really strong arm, transferred to Bishop Miege since OE never threw the ball.

I can't find any profiles on this guy?

http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1304117.html

apparently his dad was our kicker or something way back when we sucked incredible amounts of ass

Can confirm. Can also confirm that Oklahoma is interested and once they offer he's gone. But only OU.

What was his dad wearing when he said it? Was it at lunch or something more casual like just coffee or hanging out while fixing the car? Was it on a weekend?

OU probably takes one qb per year and its normally a stud.  It's far from a lock that they offer this kid, I would say chances are they won't.   They have offered one qb for the 2014 class a four star kid that they landed.  They had another four star kid in state actually in Norman and they didn't offer him.

As for these now commits we are picking up they are two stars but most seem to have a lot of offers.  Our two stars this year have more offers then our three stars do most years.

I think this change in recruiting has to do with half Andre Coleman with his east coast ties joining and the other half JBC leaving. Heard from a couple players that he wasn't the most liked of assistant coaches and didn't have the best personality to be a recruiter. Not very personable. Seemed to be a great coach though.

Look at last year's Morrow recruiting situation specifically. A four star from JBC's hometown and he couldn't even persuade him to Manhattan

He coached one of the basketball teams at my high school.  I've really only talked to him a couple of times, but the last time he said that OU was the only team that would possibly offer that could take him from us. I wanna say that his other daughter went to OU for basketball too, but I'm not positive on that.

You are correct, his sister went to OU and played bball, but I don't think that'd affect him going there a lot.

No probably not. But I'd imagine he probably has a favorable pre-recruiting image of Norman.
