I didn't say anything about K-State recruiting 5 stars.
I see plenty to like in 2 of the 5, and the other 3, we'll just have to see.
I fell like 2 stars have better chance to be great then 3 stars. A lot 2 stars that haven't been fully evaluated or are considered a 2 star because they play small time high school football. I like who we have committed so far because they all have good measurements.
Class has a ton of speed (Best reported times)
4.3 Warmark, Heath
4.4 Prewett, Stevens, Lee
4.5 Adams, Aaron
If the numbers are true (and the are probably somewhere in the ball park), it looks like we got some size and speed.
All I ask is that we bring in BCS level athletes. This group of coaches can turn them into football players. We just need more BCS athletes and less walk-on type kids from Johnson County.
Now, I would not always say that this is okay, but these coaches have proven they can take guys like this and turn them into legitimate BCS football players. They may not have the measurables
and refined skills to be immediate contributors (i.e. 4-star, 5-star), but we have 2-3 years to coach them up before most of them ever see the field, so we'll eventually give them that.
I'm pretty happy with all of them. I mean, really, you can't have 85 all-stars. If each class has 5-7 really good players, you're fielding a really good starting 22. The rest of the guys are depth or situational guys.
Anyway, good haul this weekend. A lot of nice athletes in the group. I'm a little more optimistic about Heath than Hatter is, but I guess I set my bar for him on special teams and situational type stuff. Maybe a DB flip.
I really like Ford, though. I think he'll be a good one.
