It appears that three-star defensive lineman Bobby Leath (Lake Wales, Fla./Lake Wales) has made a decision regarding which college he will attend.

Leath is expected to sign with Kansas State on or after national signing day.

The 6-foot-2, 290-pound senior chose the Wildcats over Iowa State, according to head coach Rod Shafer.

“I talked with Bobby and he made his intentions clear that he wants to go to Kansas State,” Shafer said. “They laid out a nice plan for Bobby that should work.”

Leath still has some academic work to take care of, according to Shafer.

“He has to get his test score in order mainly,” Shafer added. “But there’s a plan to get him to Kansas State eventually.”

Shafer said one of the things that attracted Leath to Kansas State was how close his brother, Melvin Pearsall, is to the campus. Pearsall was a tight end for FSU in the mid-90s.

Hopefully he qualifies...

LHC Bill Snyder doesn't care, so why should we, right? The Wildcats are coming off back-to-back great seasons -- this recent one ended with a BCS bowl berth -- but the class has only 19 players and a four-to-one ratio of two-star to four-star players. It is a comically bad class for a program that should theoretically be on the rise in recruiting. This is a relative-speaking loss because Kansas State has never been a major player for elite recruits and Snyder has shown that he can pressure diamonds from lumps of coal, but in the world of jumping the gun this is a wasted opportunity.

Headline has pix of Snyder and Kelly before the Fiesta Bowl and says:

Not even close we have a couple of high school four stars in this class and we got maybe the best JC QB in the country.  There have been years that we got zero four stars and struck out totally at QB when we had a big need at the position. 

I don't think this class is that bad but it did end like crap.   Especially losing the Campbell kid to Minnesota what the hell is that all about?

Except for Stacy Thomas, those guys aren't at positions of need.
